ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL TAX AGAINST EACH LOT
OR PIECE OF GROUND LYING BETWEEN AND SITUATE WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF
SEWER DISTRICT NO. 116 "B" IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , IN
THE NAME OF THE OWNER OR OWNERS THEREOF FOR CONSTRUCTING AND COM-
PLETING SEWERS THEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI ,
AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION 1. It appearing from the written report of the
Director of Public Works, the officer in charge of the work of
construction and completing sewers in Sewer District No. 116 "B"
in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, heretofore submitted by said
officer to the City Council and approved and filed by it on this
4th day of October, 1971, at a regular meeting of the City Counc
held on this date, that the total cost of construction and com-
pleting of said sewer as constructed amounts to the sum of
$39,648.28, and it further appearing that said report of said of-
ficer did apportion said costs against the several lots or pieces
of ground in said Sewer District, exclusive of streets in pro-
portion to the area of the whole of said Sewer District exclusive
of the public highways, and it further appearing that the total
number of square feet contained in the aggregate number of lots
and pieces of ground situated in the said Sewer District, ex-
clusive of the public highways therein, amounts to 1, 195,202
` square feet . And it further appearing from the said report that
on proper apportionment of said costs such lots or pieces of
ground in said Sewer District, so situated, each square foot of
r ground contained in said lots or pieces of ground in said Sewer
District in chargeable with the sum of $0.0331729 per square foot
Now, therefore, for the purpose of paying for the work
of construction and completion of sewers in said Sewer District
together with all necessary laterals, inlets, catch basins, man-
holes, and other necessary appurtenances thereto appertaining,
there is hereby levied and assessed against -the several and here-
inafter described lots or pieces of ground within the bounds of
said Sewer District, situated in the name of the respective name
of the owner or owners of said lots or pieces of ground, for a
special tax at the rate of $0.0331729 per square foot for each
and every square foot of ground so situated as aforesaid.
SECTION 2. Each of the lots or pieces of ground so men-
tioned and referred to in Section 1 of this Ordinance, against
which a special tax bill is specified in Section 1 of this ordin-
ance is levied and assessed and the same is hereby levied and
assessed and the description of said lots or pieces of ground and
the name of the owner or owners thereof in which the tax is levied
and assessed and the cost per square foot and the amount assessed
each lot or piece of ground in said Sewer District, situated in
the name of the owner or owners thereof, the number of square

feet owned by each property holder in the lots or pieces of
ground owned by each owner in said Sewer District is as follows :
Nadine Cox Adams, owner of the northerly 200 feet of the follow-
ing described property: A part of the southeast quarter of
the northwest quarter of Section 10, Township 44, Range 12,
and bounded as follows : Beginning at the southeast corner of
A. V. Horner' s .land, said point stands 894.27 links east of
the west line of said forty and 232 links north of the south
line of said forty, thence east 166 links, thence south 27
links thence east about 165 links to the line of Bess Winkelman
Land, thence north 37 degrees 30 minutes east, about 340 links
to the middle of a public road, thence north 65 degrees 30
minutes west, about 500 links to the northeast corner of A. V.

the south line of said fourth quarter section 689. 92 feet east-

said southerly line a distance of 275 feet, more or less to

City of Jefferson, Missouri, of the aforesaid amounts against
said lots or pieces of land in the aforesaid Sewer District situ-
ated, mentioned and described in the hertofore mentioned sections
of this Ordinance in the name of the owner or owners there6f, whi h
said special and certified tax bills shall be signed by the Mayor
and attested and recorded by the City Clerk and delivered to the
Meller Excavating Company, Inc. , the Contractor of the work of
construction of the aforesaid sewers as provided and required by
+ the Charter of the City of Jefferson and the Ordinances authorizing
and ordering the construction of sewers in said Sewer District
heretofore passed and approved by the Council.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
