RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET
AUTHORIZING THE CARTERET PLANNING BOARD
TO PREPARE AN AMENDMENT TO THE LOCUST -
ROOSEVELT RE'DVELOPMENT PLAN PURSUANT TO
THE LOCAL REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING LAW,
N.J.S.A. 40Ao12A -1 ET SEQ.
WHEREAS, the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:12A -1 et seq., as
amended and supplemented (the "Redevelopment Law ") provides a process for
municipalities to participate in the redevelopment and improvement of areas in need of
redevelopment; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council, pursuant Ordinance 18 -7, previously adopted the
Locust - Roosevelt Redevelopment Plan (the "Plan"); and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body wishes to ascertain if an amendment to the Plan is
appropriate for the redevelopment and improvement of the area in need of redevelopment
sought to be advanced by the Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
Section 1. The Borough of Carteret Planning Board (the "Planning Board ") is
hereby authorized and directed to initiate and prepare an amendment to the
Locust - Roosevelt Redevelopment Plan.
Section 2. The Planning Board is hereby authorized to utilize the services of
Beacon Planning and Consulting Set-vices, LLC, ( "Beacon Planning "), as
previously authorized to provide such planning services for the Borough, to assist
the Planning Board with the preparation of an amendment to the Plan.
Section 3. The Borough Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward this
Resolution to the Planning Board for action consistent herewith.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect at the time and in the manner
prescribed by law.
Section 5. Upon the adoption hereof, the Borough Clerk shall forward a copy
of this resolution to Beacon Planning.
