AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF SWIFT 'S HIGHWAY
FROM SOUTHWEST BOULEVARD TO MYRTLE AVENUE IN THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
AS FOLLOWS:
!! SECTION 1 . Whereas , it was heretofore found and declared
by the city council , by its resolution, passed and approved on
March 6, 1972 , necessary to improve Swifts Highway from South-
�f west Boulevard to Myrtle Avenue in the City of Jefferson,
Missouri , and it appearing to the City Council that said
�j resolution has been duly published according to the law for

seven (7) consecutive insertions , in the Post Tribune, a daily
newspaper, printed and published in the City of Jefferson,
Missouri , and a majority of the resident owners of property
i along said section of Swift ' s Highway liable for part of the
I costs of said improvement , and who own a majority of the front
j) feet on Swift 's Highway intended to be improved, have not filed

! with the City Clerk a protest against said contemplated im-
provement.
SECTION 2 . That the said road of Swift 's Highway from
Southwest Boulevard to Myrtle Avenue , will be improved in
accordance with the plans and specifications submitted by the
Director of Public Works and filed in the office of the City
Clerk, and that part of the cost of the work aforesaid shall
! be charged and levied as a special assessment against the real
estate abutting and fronting on said contemplated improvement
i in an amount of $5. 00 per front foot, and special tax bills
shall be issued therefore , as provided in Sections 826 , 827 ,
828 , 829 and 767 of Chapter 10 of the Revised Ordinances of
the City of Jefferson, Missouri , 1956, and of the Revised
Statutes of the State of Missouri , 1959 , and amendments thereto.
The balance of the cost is to be paid by the City.
SECTION 3. The Director of Public Works is hereby in-
structed to advertise for bids for this improvement.
SECTION 4 . This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval .
