Stony Brook Mill Sites Committee
Minutes — 05/11/22
Present: Chairman Doug Erickson, Faythe Ellis, Peter Ogozalek, Peg Erickson, Scott Leonhardt,
Roger O'Day, Emily Sumner
The Chairman called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm with a quorum of all members present.
1. Motion to approve minutes of 9/12/20 as presented. Motion by Peg Erickson, Second
by Roger O'Day. Unanimously approved.
2. Faythe Ellis presented the Treasurer's report. Balance in Gifts and Donations account is
$24,181.1E . Annual Budget remaining balance is $750 which is reserved for Miller's
stipend.
3. The Gristmill and Museum schedule for the summer of 2022 was reviewed. Regular
Saturday hours of 10 -2 will resume the last Saturday of June and continue for ten
weekendsuntil the end of August. Indian Pudding Party is scheduled for the last
Saturday of July, Cornbread Festiival/Last Day of Summer schedule is 8/25/22. We are
pleased to resume our annual tradition of hosting the Brewster Third Graders on either
June 3 or June 17 morning.
4. Chair Erickson gave an update from Chris Miller on the Mill Wall restoration project. The
project is §till in planning stages and is going to be combined with other work to be done
on fish weirs on the north side of Stony Brook.
5. Susan Bridges from Brewster Ponds Coalition requested permission to install a
Distribution Box for the BPC brochure booklet at an exterior location at the Mill Site.
Committee members expressed concern about setting a precedent about outside
displays by allowing this request. Motion by Emily Sumner to allow the BPC guide to be
displayed inside the mill and museum. Second by Scott Leonhardt. Unanimously
approved.,
