R. Meszaros at 6:30 P.M ROLL CALL : Present : Sec. R. Meszaros, Trustee s S. Cousins and P. Hines Absent: President J. Caliendo, Vice -Pres. J. Cook, Karen Ivlow, Treasurer and Allison Barrett of Lauterbach & Amen Guests Present: Tom Sawyer , John Falduto of Sawyer -Falduto Asset Management LLC, Rick Rei mer, Atto rney . Members Present : None Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Trustee Cousins to approve the minutes of the October 11 , 2012 meeting, s econded by Trustee Meszaros . Voice vo te taken. Motion carried. Public Comment: Trustee Patricia Hine s announced that she will not be seeking another term on the Board. The April 11, 2013 meeting will be her last. An elections will be held on April 16, 2013. Treasurer/Cash & Budget Perf ormance Reports: A motion was made by Trustee Meszaros and seconded by Trustee Cousins to approve the Cash Report dated 12/31/2012 . Roll call vote: R.Meszaros -yes, S.Cousin -yes., P.Hines -yes. Motion carried . A motion was made by Trustee Meszaros and se conded by Trustee Cousins to approve the Budget Performance Report as of 12/31/2012. Roll call vote: R.Meszaros -yes, S.Cousins -yes, P.Hines -yes. Motion carried. Approval of Disbursements: A motion was made by Trustee Meszaros to approve the disbursemen ts for October, November and December 2012 and seconded by Trustee Cousins . Roll call vote: R.Meszaros -yes, S.Cousins -yes, P.Hines -yes. Motion carried. Application for Membership – Michael Doornbosch Trustee Meszaros made a motion to admit Office r Mich ael Doornbosch as a Tier 2 participant of the Plainfield Police Pensio n Fund as of September 25, 2012. Seconded by Trustee Hines. Roll call vote: R.Meszaros -yes, S.Cousins -yes, P.Hines -yes. Motion carried.
MINUTES OF THE PLAINFIELD POLICE PENSION BOA RD MEETING JANUARY 10, 2013 PAGE 2 Application for Benefits Charles Sacco retired fr om the Plainfield Police Department on August 3, 2007 with 20 years of service. He will turn 50 years old on January 28, 2013 and is requesting his pension begin in Jan uary 2013. Trustee Meszaros made a motion to approve the monthly retirement pension for Charles Sacco in the amount of $4,089.54 . Motion seconded by Trustee Cousins. Roll call vote: R.Meszaros -yes, S.Cousins -yes, P.Hines -yes. Motion carried. Officer J ames Caliendo has submitted an application for a Non -Duty Disability Pension. After much discussion the Board directed our attorney, Rick Reimer , t o contact Officer Caliendo and begin the process. Mr. Reimer will keep the Board informed. Trustee Meszaros made a motion to authorize the Board to hold an election to fill the remainder of Pres. Caliendo’s term if he so chooses to resign from the Board. Seconded by Trustee Hines. Voice vote taken: R.Meszaros -yes, S.Cousins -yes, P.Hines -yes. Motion carried. As soon as the Board is notified of Pres. Caliendo’s decision we will move forward and hold an election to fill his position and also to elect a retiree representative for the Board. Trustee Cousins made a motion to authorize attorney to retain INSPE to select the 3 physians for Officer Caliendo’s hearing. Seconded by Trustee Hines. Voice vote taken: R.Meszaros -yes, S.Cousins -yes, P.Hines -yes. Motion carried. Trustee Cousins motion to authorize attorney to do anything necessary to adjudicate Off icer C aliendo’s claim. Vote voice taken: R.Meszaros -yes, S.Cousins -yes, P. Hines -yes. Motion carried. Attorney Rick Reimer gave a full disclosure stating that he works for the Pension Board and has no relationship with Officer Caliendo . Mr. Reimer is ethical ly bound to the Pension Fund not any one member. Unfinished Business: Status of Officer Keith Nebel’s portab ililty. Officer Nebel has paid off his contributions for service credit transfer. His Date of Hire is now 9/14/2004. Board clerk Barb Kujath was given a new office key and a building access proximity card . Tr ustee R. Meszaros completed 19 hours of training at IPPFA Conference. Certificate attached. Also he completed the Open Meetings Act/FOIA On -Line Training.
MINUT ES OF THE PLAINFIELD POLICE PENSION BOARD MEETING JANUARY 10, 2013 PAGE 3 Unfinished Business: Trustee Meszaros reminded everyone to complete Open Meetings Act/FOIA On -line training http://foia.ilattorn eygeneral.net/ Trustee Meszaros made a motion to authorize any trustee to attend regular seminars through IPPFA. Seconded by Trustee Hines. R.Meszaros -yes, S.Cousins -yes, P.Hines -yes. Motion passed. FYI - Officer Andrew Grod’s annual disability exam is scheduled for January 17, 2013, 9:50 am at Dr. Sauer’s office. New Business: Received report from Lauterbach & Amen, LLP on Pensioner COLAs and Summary of Benefit Changes as of January 1, 2013. A motion was made by Trustee Hines to accept the COLAs and S ummary of Benefit changes as presented. Seconded by Trustee Meszaros. Voice Vote taken: R.Meszaros -yes, S.Cousins -yes, P.Hines -yes. Motion carried. Tom Sawyer and John Falduto presented the Investment Performance Report for the 4 rd Quarter of 2012. A fter some discussion a motion was made by Trustee Meszaros to approve the Investment Performance Report as presented. Mot ion seconded by Trustee Hines. Roll Call vote taken: R. Meszaros -yes, S. Cousins -yes, P.Hines -yes. Motion carried. John Falduto o f Sawyer -Falduto Asset Management LLC, stating that we need to change/add signers on the Charles Schwab accounts. Trustee Hines motioned to add Richard Meszaros and Steve Cousins as authorized signers and in the event that Pres. Caliendo resigns from the Board we will then remove his name from the signature card. Trustee Meszaros seconded the motion. Roll call vote: R.Meszaros -yes, S.Cousins -yes, P.Hines -yes. Motion carried. John will prepare the paperwork and forward to the office for signatures. The complete report will be on file in the pension office for review . Attorney Report: Mr. Reimer’s report and comments are under Applications for Benefits. . CLOSED SESSION – None ADJOURNMENT – A motion was made by Trustee Hines and seconded by Tr ustee Meszaros to adjourn meeting at 8:16 p.m. Voice vote taken. Motion carried.
