t AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF A PORTION OF
' KANSAS STREET IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON , MISSOURI .
!' BE IT ORDAINED BY TIME COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Whereas , it was heretofore found and
declared by the City Council , by its resolution , passed
and approved June 4 , 1973 , necessary to improve Kansas
Street from Missouri Boulevard to St . Marys Boulevard in
the City of Jefferson , Missouri , and it appearing to the
City Council that said resolution has been duly published
according to the law for seven (7) consecutive insertions ,
in the Post Tribune, a daily newspaper , printed and published
in the City of Jefferson, Missouri , and a majority of the
resident owners of property along said section of Kansas
Ak Street liable for part of the costs of said improvement,
and who own a majority of the front feet on Kansas Street
intended to be improved, have not filed with the City Clerk
a protest against said contemplated improvement.
SECTION 2 . That the said road of Kansas Street as
stated in Section 1 of this Ordinance , will be improved
in accordance with the plans and specifications submitted by
the Director of Public Works and filed in the office of the
City Clerk , and that part of the cost of the work aforesaid
shall be charged and levied as a special assessment against
the real estate abutting and fronting on said contemplated
improvement in an amount of $5. 00 per front foot , and special
tax bills shall be issued therefore , as provided in Sections
826 , 827 , 828 , 829 and 767 of Chapter 10 of the Revised
1p Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri , 1956 , and
of the Revised Statutes of the State of Missouri , 1959 , and
amendments thereto. The balance of the cost is to be paid
by the City.
SECTION 3 . The Director of Public Works is hereby in-
structed to advertise for bids for this improvement.
SECTION 4 . This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and. after its passage and approval.
