ORDINANCE NO. 251
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF CITY TAXES AND I
ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, FOR THE YEAR, 1973.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
i MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS :

I; SECTION 1. There is hereby levied and assessed the following
rate on all Real Estate and Personal Property within the limits
'{ of the City of Jefferson, Missouri , not exempt from taxation by
the Constitution or the laws of the State of Missouri , as shown
?j by the assessment book of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for
!! the year 1973 , and on all Merchants and Manufacturers statements ,
I; made as provided by law:
FIRST - For the purpose of paying all current expenses of the
I City of Jefferson, Missouri , for the fiscal year, the sum of
cents on the one hundred dollar valuation.
ijSECOND - For the purpose of paying interest on the outstanding
bonds of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and for the purpose
I! of creating a sinking fund to retire the outstanding bonds of
i the City of Jefferson, Missouri , the sum of . 38 cents on the
!; one hundred dollar valuation.

THIRD -- For the purpose of establishing and maintaining a Free
Public Library in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of
. 40 cents on the one hundred dollar valuation.

FOURTH - For thepurpose of establishing and maintaining Free
Public Parks in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of
. 20 cents on the one hundred dollar valuation.

;f FIFTH - For the purpose of creating a Firemen' s Retirement System
i for Firemen in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of . 10
cents on the one hundred dollar valuation.
ii SECTION 2 . It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to cause to
I� be extended in the appropriate columns opposite each item of
I� taxable property on the assessment books as returned by the
{I Assessor of the City of Jefferson Missouri, and corrected by the.
County Beard of Equalization, the amount of taxes to be paid by
