AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , PRESCRIBING A
BUILDING CODE FOR AN EXTRATERRITORIAL TWO-MILE ZONE SURROUNDING
THE CITY OF JEFFERSON IN COLE COUNTY AND (MMINc, TO THE BUILDING
COMMISSIONER, BUILDING INSPECTOR AND THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT OF
THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , POWERS AND DUTIES WITHIN SAID
ZONE PURSUANT TO AUTHORITY GRANTED BY SECTION 89. 144 RSMO. AND
ORDINANCE NO. 8412.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . TITLE, APPLICATION
1.1 Title
That this ordinance shall be known, referred to and
cited as the "Building Code of the Extraterritorial
Jurisdiction of the City of Jefferson, Missouri",
defining authority established by Section 89. 144,
RSMO and Ordinance No. 8412.
1. 2 Application
This ordinance shall apply to the unincorporated area
of Cole County around Jefferson City, Missouri , identified
by City Ordinance No . 8412 and approved by the County
Court as within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of
Jefferson City, Missouri.
SECTION 2. PRESCRIBING BUILDING CODE, POWERS & DUTIES
2. 1 Prescribing Building Code
The Building Code for the extraterritorial zone surrounding
the City of Jefferson shall be the 1970 BOCA Building Code
as outlined by Ordinance No. 8528 of the City of Jefferson,
2. 2 Powers & Duties
The powers and duties of the Building Commissioner,
Building Inspector and Board of Adjustment shall be
the same in the extraterritorial zone as those outlined
by Ordinance No. 8528 of the City of Jefferson.

SECTION 3, EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and
after its formal approval. by the Cole County Court
and its passage and approval by the City Council of
the City of Jefferson, Missouri.
