AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, DECLARING THE
EIGHTH DAY OF MAY, THE BIRTHDATE OF THE HONORABLE HARRY S.
TRUMAN, AS A LEGAL HOLIDAY.
WHEREAS, the Honorable Harry S. Truman, a native
Missourian, born on the eighth day of May, 1884, honorably
served his country as the Thirty-second President of the
United States from 1945-1953; and

1p WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Jefferson desire
to appropriately recognize and honor Harry S. Truman and his
distinguished public service to the United States of America
and the State of Missouri; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Eighth day of May annually hereafter
shall be declared as Truman Day, and is a legal holiday in and
for the City of Jefferson, Missouri.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
