ORDINANCE NO. S 17
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 84131,
RELATING TO THE COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY FOR THE CITY
OF JEFFERSON, RELATING TO THE PREPARATION OF REPORTS, AND THE
HOLDING OF REGULAR BUSINESS MEETINGS,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Amend Ordinance No. 8413, relating to the
Commission on Environmental Quality, by striking Paragraph "A" of
Section 4, and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"A. To monitor the quality of the environment within
the City, including measurements of air, water and
Alh noise pollution, utilizing available sources of data
supplemented by such additional measurements as the
Commission shall deem necessary, The Commission shall
prepare reports at least once annually, summarizing
data relating to the quality of the environment and
any changes that have occurred, said reports to be
filed with the City Council and made a matter of public
record."
Section 2. Also, amend Ordinance No. 8413, by striking all
of Section 5, and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"Section 5. The Commission on Environmental Quality
shall hold a regular business meeting at least once
each quarter at such time and place as shall be
established by rule of the Commission. The Commission
i may hold such additional business meetings as it shall,
i from time to time deem necessary. The Commission shall
elect, at its first meeting in each fiscal year and
from among its five resident freeholder members, a
Chairman, a Vice-Chairman and a Secretary-Treasurer,
and said officers shall be eligible to succeed themselves
at the will of the Commission."
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage and approval.
