ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 7190 OF THE CITY REGULATING THE OPERATION OF
TAXICABS WITHIN THE CITY, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 8616,
ESTABLISHING THE RATES OF FARE OF TAXICABS, AND ENACTING A NEW
ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Repeal Clause. Ordinance No. 8616, prescribing
the rates chargeable by taxicabs within this City, be and the same
is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Taxicab Rates . There is hereby enacted a new
provision, to be known as Section 11 of Ordinance No. 7190, to
regulate the rates of fare of taxicabs , and said provision shall
read in words and figures as follows:
"Section 11. Rates of fare for transportation.
From and after Me effective date of this ordinance,
it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, associa-
tion or corporation, engaged in the operation of a
taxicab business under a Certificate of Convenience
and Necessity within the limits of the City, to
charge a rate either less or greater than follows:
$ .80 for the first one-fourth mile
.10 for each additional one-sixth mile
.25 for each additional passenger over
one passenger
6.00 per hour for waiting time
1.25 minimum on all deliveries
.40 extra on all grocery hauls
.25 extra on all extra stops
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
