AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING
ORDINANCE NUMBER 8444 OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, PRESCRIBING THE
11NUMBER OF PERSONNEL IN THE CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND ENACTING
A NEW ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT AND TO THE RETIRE-.
MENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS:

{ Section 1. Police Department Personnel. The Police De-
partment of the City shall consist of the following:
Chief - - - - - - - - - - - - 1
Assistant Chief - - - - - - - 1
Captains- - - - - - - - - - - 3
Lieutenants - - - - - - - - - 4
Sergeants - _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 6
Corporals 6

Radio Dispatchers - - - - - - 4
Section 2. Retirement. All Police Personnel Shall be re-
tired at the end of the month in which said person attains the age

I` of sixty (60) years; provided, however, that an employee, upon
written request, with the written approval of the Chief of
Police, filed in advance of the retirement date, may, upon the
I approval of the Mayor and the City Council, be retained for suc-
h{ cessive periods of one year until age of sixty-five (65) , when
t
retirement shall be compulsory.

Section 3. Repeal Clause. Ordinance Number 8444 of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, relating to the number of personnel
in the City Police Department, be and the same is hereby repealed.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take
effect and be in full force from and after the date of its pas-
sage a approval.
