AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS
PROVIDING FOR A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING BETWEEN THE
RICHLAND HILLS ZONING COMMISSION AND CITY COUNCIL ON
MARCH 18, 2014 TO RECEIVE INPUT FROM THE PUBLIC
REGARDING THE REVISED RICHLAND HILLS ZONING ORDINANCE
AND COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Richland Hills is a home rule city acting under its charter
adopted by the electorate pursuant to Article XI, Section 5 of the Texas Constitution and
Chapter 9 of the Local Government Code; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapters 211 and 213 of the Texas Local Government
Code, the City has prepared a new proposed Zoning Ordinance and new proposed
Comprehensive Plan for the City of Richland Hills; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 211 of the Texas Local Government Code requires that
public hearings be held before the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, Section 211.007 allows the hearings to be held jointly.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Richland
Hills shall conduct a joint public hearing on March 18, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. to receive input
from the public on the new proposed Zoning Ordinance and Comprehensive Plan.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
publication as required by law, and it is so ordained.
