AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AUTHORIZING i
AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CLERK OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT WITH CEDAR CITY, MISSOURI, FOR THE TREATMENT OF
SEWAGE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . The Mayor and Clerk of the City hereby

authorized and directed, for and in the name of the City, to
execute a contract with Cedar City, Missouri , for the treatment
of sewage.
SECTION 2 . Said contract shall read in words and figures
as follows :

SECTION 3 . This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.

CON'T'RACT FOR TREATMENT

THIS CONTRACT , made and entered into this day of
by and between the City of Jefferson, a
municip corporation in the County of Cole in the State of Missouri
and Cedar City a municipal corporation in the County of Callaway
in the State of Missouri . WITNESSETI-I:
WHEREAS , the City of Jefferson has adequate facilities for
the treatment of raw sewage ; and
WHEREAS , Cedar City is in the process of constructing a col-
lection system; and
WHEREAS , Cedar City desires to utilize the sewage treatment
system belonging to the City of Jefferson ;
NOW THEREFORE be it contracted and agreed upon as follows :
1 . Cedar City will build facilities for the collection and
pumping of sewage into the sewage collecting system of the City
Wof Jefferson. All equipment and materials used in said facilities
to be built shall be approved by the Director of Public Works for
the City of Jefferson.
2 . The City of Jefferson will provide treatment of the sewage
from the Cedar City collection system at its plant in Callaway
County , Missouri.
3. The City of Jefferson, will operate and maintain the sewage
pumping facilities to be built by Cedar City. Such operation and
maintenance shall include power costs .
4 . The City of Jefferson will provide upon request of Cedar
City maintenance service on its sewage collection system on a time
and material cost basis .
S. Cedar City will be billed monthly by the City of Jefferson
for all services provided herein with the said city making one
payment instead of the customary individual payment made by cus-
tomers.
6. The total monthly service charge for the services provided
will be based on a rate of $2 . 50 per home in Cedar City utilizing
the sewer, provided however, all homes having sewers available shall
be connected and billed for within six months after completion
of the facilities mentioned in Paragraph 1 above. Commercial or
industrial users in Cedar City shall be billed on a rate basis of
consumption as provided by in Ordinances 8506 and 8825 of the City
of Jefferson.
7 . The monthly service charges set forth in Paragraph 6 above
are to be reviewed annually, as required by the ordinance of the
City of Jefferson , in order to adjust the service charges , if justi-
fied due to , increased water consumption , excess ground water infil-
tration , advanced treatment facilities required at the treatment
plant , or an overall City wide rate increase.

8. Cedar City will adopt by ordinance the same sewer use
regulations as in effect in the City of Jefferson and set forth
t in Ordinance 8438.
