WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri,

f adopted a Resolution on , 197 , to annex an uni icorporated area of land contiguous to the prepent city limits, sai
unincorporated area of land being described as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of Fractional Section
4 , Township 44 North, Range 12 West ; thence southerly
along the east line of said Fractional Section 4 to the
southeast corner thereof; thence westerly along the
� southerly line of said Fractional Section 4 to the cen-
terline of the west half of the -,northeast quarter of
Section 9 ; thence southerly along the centerline of
the west half of the northeast quarter of Section 9 to
the quarter section line; thence easterly along the
quarter section line of Sections 9, 10 and 11 to the
center of Section 11; thence southerly along the quarter
t section line of Sections 11 and 14 to the southerly line c
of Section 14 ; thence westerly along the southerly line
of Section 14 to the quarter quarter section line in the

WHEREAS, the City of Jefferson, Missouri , did cause to be fil d
',in the Circuit Court of Cole County, Missouri, in Case No. 27,174,

I!a suit for a declaratory judgment authorizing the City to annex the
area of land described above; and
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of May, 1975 , the Circuit Court of
!;Cole County, Missouri, did enter its judgment in said suit, autho-
� rizing the annexation into the City of the unincorporated area of
,land described above, upon the consent of a majority of the quali-
`fied voters of the City voting at an election to be held for such
i
' purpose in said City, the judgment having become final; and,
WHEREAS, the Ma y y or and City Council of the City of Jefferson,

Missouri, with the consent of a majority of the legal voters of
i
siad City, voting at an election to be held for such purpose, by
the passage and approval of a City Ordinance, have power to extend
I
1{{1the limits of the City over territory contiguous thereto; and,
Ii WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Jefferson,
IlMissouri, believe an election should be held in the City to determ ne
11if a majority of the qualified voters voting thereat are in favor
E; of extending the limits of the City to include the unincorporated

;! areas of land hereinbefore described;
i� NOW THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
IIMISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. An election shall be held in the City of Jeffersoll,
r.
County of Cole, Missouri, on Tuesday, the 5th day .of April, 1977,
11in order to submit to the qualified voters of said City the follow
ing proposition, to-wit:

That the corporate limits of the City of Jefferson, Missouri,
11shall be extended to include the following described unincorporate
�Earea of land oontiguous to the present city corporate limits:
Beginning at the northeast corner of Fractional Section
4, Township 44 North, Range 12 West; thence southerly
along the east line of said Fractional Section 4 to the
southeast corner thereof; thence westerly along the
I southerly line of said Fractional Section 4 to the cen-
terline of the west half of the -,northeast quarter of
Section 9 ; thence southerly along the centerline of
' the west half of the northeast quarter of Section 9 to
the quarter section line; thence easterly along the
quarter section line of Sections 9, 10 and 11 to the
center of Section 11 ; thence southerly along the quarter

Section 2. That the said election shall be held in all wards
find precincts in the City at the polling places selected by the City

council and published as provided for in Section 10.080 and 10.090
f ordinance No. 7593 of the City, as amended. Polls of said elec-
ion shall be open at the hour of six A.M. , and continue open until

fhe hour of seven P.M. , on said date. Said election shall be held
land conducted and the results thereof shall be certified, canvassed
jhnd declared in all respects in conformity with the Constitution an
Laws of the State of Missouri governing elections in said City of
�efferson, and in accordance with the ordinances of said City.
Section 3. That the City Clerk be and she is hereby authorized
nd directed to give notice of said election by publication .in the
,Ue£ferson City Post-Tribune, a daily newspaper printed and published
Xn the City of Jefferson and of general circulation therein. Said
�fotice shall be published in said newspaper once a week for four

consecutive weeks, and on the same day in each week. The first pub
�- ication of said notice shall be made at least twenty-one (21) days

�efore the date of said election and the last publication shall be
4inade within ten (10) days of the date of said election. The notice
