AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING ORDINANC
38852 RELATING TO THE KEEPING OF DOGSr CATS AND OTHER DOMESTIC ANI-
� HALSr BY REPEALING CERTAIN PROVISIONS AND ENACTING NEW PROVISIONS
RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT MATTER.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Repeal Section 1, Paragraph (m) of Ordinance 8852
and adopt a new Section to read as follows:
(m) "At large." - Any dog, pup, cat or kitten shall
be at large when off the premises of the owner and not
under reasonable control. Livestock and fowl shall be at
large when off the premises of the owner and not confined
by a fence or enclosure.
Section 2. Repeal Section 4 of Ordinance 8852 and adopt a new
Section to read as follows:
Section 4. Dogs, pups, cats and kittens prohibited
from running at large. It shall be unlawful for the owner
of any dog, pup, cat or kitten to let, allow or permit such
animal to run at large as defined. In any prosecution for
violation of this Section proof of the dog, pup, cat or
kitten described in the complaint was owned by the person
named as Defendant and that said animal was at large during
the time and at the place set forth in the complaint shall
constitute a prima facie presumption that the owner of such
animal let, allowed or permitted such animal to run at large.

Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
front and after its date of passage and approval.
