Meeting Participation Statement - Diana read the participation statement. 4. Recording Statement - Diana read the recording statement. 5. Approve Old Minutes - A motion to approve the May 2023 minutes was made by Adam Kibbe and seconded. Approved unanimously. There were no public comments. 6. Property Manager's Report a. The Family Fun Day was a success despite the rain. Most activities had to be moved indoors. There were acrobats, clowns, magicians, and a man on stilts. It lasted from 1 to 3:15 PM. Ticket sales brought in about $800 and that resulted in a small loss. But this was planned as a community event designed to foster goodwill rather than as a fundraiser. b. The grounds are in good shape. The lighting for the stairs to the north of the reception hall have been installed. A leaky sink is being worked on. Over the last six weeks the sanding and painting of the arches on the front has been done for free. The first guests have been in and out at the cottages. c. Final approval for the HVAC mini splits will not be in time for them o be installed this summer. Richard is looking into getting a temporary AC unit. There was a discussion about whether anything can be done to speed the approval process. Richard will inquire again with the state. d. The Art in Bloom event made a profit but they didn't have the high attendance they had in the past. The weather did not cooperate. Richard suggested that they maybe didn't do sufficient social media promotion in advance. They would like to do the event again next year. Richard is talking to Brian about what arrangements were done in the past that might help improve the event next time. e. Richard said questions have been raised about what special rights, if any, Weathervanes Way residents have to access the beach. Peter suggested that this is more about parking near the cottages, fires on the beach, and the use of golf carts than about walking to the east of the cottages to get to the beach. Fires on the beach are a serious safety issue. Mark explained that at least some local residents used to own beachfront property but were forced to sell it to the state by eminent domain decades ago. All these issues are complicated by the fact that conflicting oral histories have been passed down over the years. f. Haunted Mansion will not happen in 2023 but Richard hopes to have it return in 2024. Will this conflict with Christmas at Crosby in 2024? Could the Friends of Crosby do the Christmas event in conjunction with the Nauset Garden Club? These are two major events that require a huge effort late in the season. At some point we may wish to coordinate them so that one will happen in even numbered years and the other in odd. g. Richard hopes to order the tables and chairs this week. 7. Friends of Crosby Report h. The Friends have been meeting every Tuesday. i. Only a few people showed for the docent drive. But all four of the recruits who showed up have joined and appear to be valuable additions to the group. j. HGTV may want to do a program on the mansion. They are coming to look in July. Richard will have more information then. 9. New Business - none 10. Next Meeting - July 27, 2023 at 1 PM 11. Adjournment - A motion to adjourn was made by Peter Lombardi and seconded. It passed at about 1:42. Respectfully submitted, Mark Flaherty
