ORDINANCE NO. 5;04-8
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING
ORDINANCE NO. 8996 OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, PRESCRIBING THE
NUMBER OF PERSONNEL IN THE CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND ENACTING A
NEW ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT, AND TO THE RETIREMENT
OF POLICE PERSONNEL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Police Department Personnel. The Police
Department of the City shall consist of the following;

Section 2. Retirement. All Police Personnel shall be retire
at the end of the month in which said person attains the age of
sixty (60) years ; provided, however, that an employee, upon written
request, with the written approval of the Chief of Police, filed
in advance of the retirement date, may, upon the approval of the
Mayor and the City Council, be retained for successive periods of
one (1) year until the age of sixty-five (65) , when retirement
shall be compulsory.
Section 3. Repeal Clause. Ordinance Number 8996 of the City
of Jefferson, Missouri, relating to the number of personnel in the
City Police Department, be and the same is hereby repealed.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect
and be in full force from and after the date of its passage and
approval.
