a. Sample flyer was discussed,location decided to be Eddy Elementary School in
Sharon Donahue order to simplify planning.

c. General discussion of details regarding logistics of event(date/ time / details on

d. Itemized ideas for bike fest:
None i. Overview of event,purpose is to raise awareness and educate the public
regarding safety
ii. List of potential participants
1. PD-rules of the road,biker safety.
2. COA-red envelopes with cyclist's personal info (e.g.
medications,etc.). Sharon has volunteered to be liaison to COA
for the event.
3. Water Dept. -previously had provided promotional water
bottles and a water station to refill bottles.
4. CCRTA-bus for demo as to how to load bikes onto public
transit.
5. Spaulding- demo for recumbent bike (and potentially adult
tricycle). Question of how to disseminate information that other
modalities besides bicycles are welcome to participate in the
event.
6. CCJTC-planner and point of contact identified,also connected
to packmaster for local cub scouts.
7. MassBike-Joe had reached out to determine who the CC rep is,
no response as of January meeting.
8. Friends of the CCRT -handing out flyers, answering questions
from the public,etc.
9. Cub Scout pack-might be willing to run the bike rodeo
component,potential for earning some sort of badge.
10. E-bike -previous communication demonstrated that this is a
hard-to-reach group; Roland will investigate if there is an off-
season contact.
11. Brewster Recycling Committee-potential to coordinate recycling
of e-bike batteries at the event.
iii. Execution:
1. Monthly committee meetings through April in order to plan and
organize the event.
2. February meeting goal to break the list of tasks to distribute to
committee members,sketch out a map of the location.
iv. Logistics:
1. Need to review previous event's survey;identified as important
to ensure evenly distributed survey forms.
2. Kelly will confirm with Brewster town officials as to whether
BikeFest is considered an allowable expenditure under the
Bikeways article spending.
3. Kelly to confirm tax exemption documentation for businesses
that provide donations.
4. Kelly to confirm details regarding refreshments and food permits.
v. Members should email Joe directly with any particular event assignment
requests. John requested to air filling and helmet fittings.
8. How to host an LCI seminar
a. Not considered a high priority at the current time; Brewster might later join with
other towns in order to have an LCI.
9. League of American Bicyclists' Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) designation in 2024
a. More information needs to be discussed with Griffin(DPW)in order to move the
application progress forward.
10. The Committee needs to create a report for the Annual Town Report
a. Main contributions for report are that multiple vacancies were filled on the
Committee in order to provide a quorum, and the event of distributing lights to
unlit bicycles present on the CCRT.
11. Brewster Conservation Day 2024 Save the Date July 13,2024,9:30-1:30 Drummer Boy
Park
a. Date of July 13,2024 has been confirmed,information is already on the Brewster
Conservation website.
12. Matters Not Reasonably Anticipated by the Chair
a. Susan has stated that she will no longer be participating as a member of the
Committee. Two (2) vacancies have been communicated to Dave Whitney as
Select Board liaison.
b. Identified need to make flyers of the town that highlight routes for bicyclists and
pedestrians;will also be beneficial for BFC designation application.
