ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, 1978, BY REPEALING SECTION 35-11, TAXICAB
RATES ESTABLISHED, AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION IN LIEU THEREOF,
RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Repeal Clause. Section 35-11 of the Code of the
City of Jefferson, 1978, prescribing the rates chargeable by
taxicabs within this City, be and the same is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Taxicab Rates . There is hereby enacted a new
Section to be known as Section 35-11 of the Code of the City of
Jefferson, 1978, to regulate the rates of fare of taxicabs, and
said provision shall read in words and figures as follows :
"Section 35-11. Taxicab Rates - Established.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, association
or corporation, engaged in the operation of a taxicab
business under a Certificate of Convenience and
Necessity within the limits of the City, to charge a
rate either less or greater than follows:
$ 1.00 for the first one-fourth mile
. 10 for each additional one-eighth mile
. 25 for each additional passenger over
one passenger.
6.00 per hour for waiting time
1. 25 mini..mum on all deliveries
.40 extra on all grocery hauls
.25 extra on all extra stops ."
Section 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
