This means that at least a quorum of the members of the public body will attend the meeting in person and members of the public are welcome to attend in person as well. As a courtesy only, access to the meeting is also being provided via remote means in accordance with applicable law. Please note that while an option for remote attendance and/or participation is being provided as a courtesy to the public, the meeting/hearing will not be suspended or terminated if technological problems interrupt the virtual broadcast or affect remote attendance or participation, unless otherwise required by law. Call to Order: 11:00 AM 2. Declaration of a Quorum: Commissioner Baran, Commissioner Skidmore, Liasson Mary Chaffee, Office Manager Sherry Theuret, Assistance Superintendent Alex Provos and Superintendent Paul Anderson. 3. Meeting Participation Statement: Read by Commissioner Baran 4. Recording Statement: Read by Commissioner Baran 5. Drought status update. a. The water level continues to drop but slowly. i. Superintendent Anderson explained Brewster would need a few years of winters with snowfall to replenish the aquifer compared to the aquifer four years ago. 6. Superintendent's Report a. Tank Update i. Tank two will be completed next week. After the tank is completed, it will be disinfected, filled with water, take a sample for the lab, wait for results, and get back online. b. Installation of pipe for hydration station at Long Pond Landing complete. i. Hydration station will include a spigot. 1. The spigot will be for cleaning equipment. c. Capital Tour with Finance Committee L Discussed Articles for Fall Town Meeting. 1. $35,000 for land acquisition 2. $70,000 additional funds for materials to complete Red Top Road water main installation. d. David Gage promoted to Foreman. e. Four interviews conducted on Monday, October 2nd for the two open laborer positions. i. Lead & Copper Sampling for the Department of Environmental Protection Agency is complete. i. The water department collaborates with homeowners to obtain thirty water samples. Samples are also obtained from the schools. 1. Owners must fill out a questionnaire to meet the criteria to be a participant. 2. Houses must be between the years of 1982 through 1992. a. Houses are chosen between these years because, lead was in solder when installing the plumbing. 3. The water must be stagnant for six hours. 4. Houses can't have any new plumbing. 5. If samples come back with a higher than acceptable level of lead and copper, then homeowners are sent a letter and notified of the results. 8. Office Manager's Report a. The water department received a new town clock with Easy Work Force Software. L Time and attendance will be tracked through the software. ii. Employees will be able to login to their account and view time taken off and accrued time. iii. Time and attendance will still be put into Harper's Payroll Software for paychecks. 9. Approval of Meeting Minutes a. Commissioner Skidmore approved August and September minutes as amended. i. Motion 2nd by Commissioner Baran ii. Roll Call Vote: 2-0-0 10. Commissioner Baran inquired to Superintendent Anderson about the vote for bow hunting in the punkhorns. i. Superintendent Anderson explained the Select Board, Conservation and the Water Commissioners must vote annually to implement regulations. 13. Next Meeting: a. Wednesday, November Vat 11:00 AM i.
