AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, FIXING THE
SALARIES AND EXPENSE ACCOUNTS OF CITY ELECTIVE OFFICIALS,
AND REPEALING CERTAIN ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
RELATING THERETO, AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . The following named elective officers of
the City of Jefferson, Missouri; namely, the Mayor, City
Attorney, Police Judge, City Treasurer, City Assessor, City
Collector and all City Councilmen, shall receive compensation
and expense accounts as provided in Section 1 of Ordinance No.
9087 through April 17, 1979.
Section 2. Commencing April 18 , 1979, the following Elective
Officials of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, shall receive the
following compensation for the performance of their duties, and,
as specifically allowed herein, the following expense accounts to
defray expenses incurred by them in the performance of their
official duties:
(1) The M_ayor shall receive the sum of $250. 00 per
month as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive $125.00
per month as an expense account.
(2) The City Attorney shall receive the sum of $1,200. 00
per month as salary.
(3) The Police Judge shall receive the sum of $750. 00
per month as salary.
(4) The City Treasurer shall receive the sum of $120. 00
per month as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive
$75. 00 per month as an expense account.
(5) The City Assessor shall receive the sum of $1,020. 00
per month as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive
$75. 00 per month as an expense account.
(6) The City Collector shall receive the sum of $1,300. 0
per month as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive, on
delinquent taxes, a sum equal to four (4%) per cent of the amount
of all delinquent taxes, plus interest thereon, which amount
shall be added to the amount owed by the delinquent taxpayer and
collected from the person paying said delinquent taxes.
(7) Each City Councilman elected at the General Election
in April, 1979, shall receive the sum of $100. 00 per month as
salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive $125. 00 per month
as an expense account.
(8) Those C78 Councilmen elected at the General
Election in April, 19 , sh�a l rece eve the compensation provided
for by Section 1 of Ordinance 9087 until their duly elected
successors shall be sworn into office after the General Election
in April, 1980, at which time the salary and expense account
shall be the same as provided in Subparagraph (7) above.
Section 3. Section 1, Subparagraphs (1) through (b) of
Ordinance No. 9087, and such other Ordinances or parts of Ordinances
as are in conflict with this Ordinance, are hereby declared to be
repealed, effective April 18, 1979.
Section 4. Upon its passage and approval, this Ordinance
shall take effect and be in force as of November 1, 1978 .
