AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE APPROPRIATION AND CONDEMNATION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC USE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A POLICE DEPARTMENT COMPLEX. WHEREAS, the Police Department and Director of Public Works of the City of Jefferson, having submitted their recommendation for the construction of the Jefferson City Police Department Complex, and after full and complete discussion and consideration of all alternatives, the City Council found, determined and declared that said Police Department Complex is necessary to facilitate and expedite the operation of the Jefferson City Police Department, an the public interest and safety requires immediate construction of said Police Department Complex as shown on the plans approved; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City of Jefferson, Missouri, does hereby declare it is necessary to appropriate and condemn and the City does hereby authorize and direct the appropriation and condemnation of a certain tract of land, specifically described hereinafter in Section 2 of this Ordinance, for public use for construction of a ® Police Department Complex, as designated by the Housing Authority of the City of Jefferson, the City' s agent for said acquisition. Section 2. The description of the tract of land to be appropriated and condemned for construction of a Police Department Complex is as follows: The easterly 38 feet 9 inches of Subdivision 1, 2, and 3 of Inlots number 609 and 610, in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, more particularly as follows: Beginning at a point on the northerly line of said Inlot 610, which said point is 150 feet easterly from the northwesterly corner of said Inlot 609, thence from said beginning point southerly parallel with the easterly line of said Inlot 610 a distance of 75 feet to the southerly line of said lot 3 , a distance of 38 feet 9 inches to the southeasterly corner of said lot 3 thence northerly along the easterly line !` of said lots 1, 2 and 3 a distance of 75 feet to the northerly line of said Inlot 610, which is also the northeasterly corner of said lot 1, thence westerly along said northerly line 38 feet 9 inches to the place of beginning. 1�i�i► Section 3. Pursuant to the terms of Section 8.8. 073, V.A.M.S. , no benefit district is established, and the damages assessed, if any, shall be paid from City Funds. Section 4. The City Attorney, and such assistants as he may designate, shall prepare and file such suit or suits as may be necessary to carry out the objectives of this Ordinance. . Section 5.
