AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
C.ITY.OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA, ESTABL.,
ISHING PARKING TIME ZONES AND PENALTY
FOR VIOLATION ,THEREOF
THE CITY COUNCIL. OF.:THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council of the City
of Temple City that in an attempt to resolve the parking problem where
parking meters are presently located in the City of Temple City, is
to temporarily remove all parking meters between October 1, 1960, and
January 3, 1961, to restrict parking in said area to a reasonable
interval of time, and to provide a fair penalty for violation.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. When signs are erected in each block of the
City of Temple City giving notice thereof, no person shall park a
vehicle between the hours of 7:00 A. M. and 6:00 P. M. of any day
except Sundays and Holidays for a period of time longer than two hours.
SECTION 2. Any person who shall be convicted of a viola-
tion of this ordinance shall be deemed builty of a misdemeanor and
shall be punished by a fine of $1.eO.
SECTION 3. Effective Date. This ordinance is hereby de-
clared to an emergency measure necessary for the immediate pre-
servation of the public peace, health and safety and shall take effect
and be in full force immediately upon its adoption. The City Council
specifically declares that the regulation and flow of vehicular traffic
upon the public streets of the City of Temple City is necessary for
the public peace, health and safety and this particular ordinance is
essential for the immediate protection of the public health, safety
and welfare,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Temple
City at a regular meeting thereof held this 26th day of September,
1960, by the following called vote:
AYES: Councilmen - Buchan, Dickason, Merritt, Fitzjohn
NOES: Councilmen- Tyrell
