Bayer, M. Krippel, J. Anderson. EX-OFFICIO PRESENT: R. Russ, M. Gehrke, Ed Schrader, Fire District Representative. Chairman Simmons called the meeting to order at 7:56 p.m. Roll call was taken. L. Kelly, J. Myers, A. Arbo, J. Eichelberger, J. Bostjancic, G. Krahn, and J. Wilson were absent. There being no additions or corrections, Chairman Simmons declared the minutes of the February 2, 1988 meeting approved as presented. Case No. 168-1207872 - Alpha-Omega/Bethesda Lutheran Homes Petition for rezoning from I-1 to A-4. Ms. Fagan requested the Board to offer a motion to continue this hearing to March lst. Mr. Wanderer, the property owner was not able to submit his materials in time so that we could take action on the final plat and the rezoning at the same hearing. They will be ready for March lst as we do have the information in hand as of today. J. Sobkoviak moved to continue the public hearing on Case No. 168-120787Z - Alpha-Omega/Bethesda Lutheran Homes to March 1, 1988 when the petitioner can be available to answer questions. Seconded by W. Schempf. Roll call vote. Sobkoviak,,yes; Neely, yes; Schempf, yes; Bayer, yes; Krippel, yes; Anderson, yes; Simmons, yes. 7 yes, 0 no. Motion carried. Continuation of Case No. 176-0202882 - Proposed revision to the Zoning ordinance regulating signs. The Board discussed the following items: D. Wall Signs E. Ground Signs F. Projecting Signs G. Window Signs H. Awning or Canopy Signs I. Subdivision Signs J. Identification Signs for Multi-Family Developments K. Real Estate Signs L. Gasoline Station Signs M. Temporary Signs N. Downtown Sign District O. B-5 Business Transition/Residential District P. Banners Q Removal R. Construction and Maintenance S. Administration PLAINFIELD PLAN COMMISSION February 16, 1988 Page TWO In discussion the Board recommended the following changes: D. Wall Signs Add to first paragraph "or painted on wall". E. Ground Signs No. 6 - change 1'80%11 to "50%" Add "pedestals to definition section. F. Projecting Signs No. 3 - change to read as follows: "Signs shall not project more than seven (7) feet from the building. G. Window Signs Add wording "window signs not in compliance shall be removed." H. Awning or Canopy Signs Eliminate Item No. 4. I. Subdivision Signs No. 1 - add "in accordance with the Sign ordinance." Eliminate Item No. 2. J. Identification Signs for Multi-Family Developments No. 1 - change "(30) dwelling units" to "(20) dwelling units. No. 3 - Discussion on allowing signs on both sides of building. Should there be frontage requirement. Eliminate Item No. 4. K. Real Estate Signs Work on Item No. 4. There was discussion regarding "Open House" signs. Are they temporary, should there be a time limit. L. Gasoline Station Signs No. 5 - change "(24) square feet" to "(88 square feet." PLAINFIELD PLAN COMMISSION February 16, 1988 Page Three M. Temporary Signs First paragraph - add "excluding real estate signs." No. 5 - change "(40) days" to "(21) days". N. Downtown Sign District Work on Items 2 and 3. P. Banners Add banners to definition section. Q. Removal No. 1 - add "on publication of ordinance." Under old business, Ms. Fagan reported there will be a public meeting on the proposed boundary agreement between the Villages of Plainfield and Romeoville, February 22nd at 7:00 p-.m., Village Hall.
