PLAINFIELD PLAN COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
DATE: January 8, 1985 AT: Village Hall

EX-OFFICIO PRESENT:. W. Schempf, M. Latta
A. Simmons called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. Roll call was taken.
The minutes of the meeting on November 27, 1984 were approved as corrected on
January 8, 1985 with the corrections being on page two, last paragraph correcting
the spelling of petition and the other correction of a motion being made by
D. Gallicksen to J.-Anderson.
The agenda of January 8, 1985 was approved as presented and closed.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
M.. Latta announced that the Village Board had concurred with the Plan Commission
on D. Lichtenwalter's petition for rezoning.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Case #118-3883FP: Graham petition for final plat approval. There is nothing , to
report at this time and will be continued until next meeting.
Pheasant Chase Subdivision: There is nothing to report at this time and will be
continued until next mee7ing.
Zoning Ordinance: Continuation of public hearing. M. Latta said there will be
a workshop on Monday, January 14, 1985 at 6':30 P.m. for the proposed zoning
ordinance. Any of the Plan Commission Board will 1 be welcome to attend.
NEW BUSINESS:
Report of Naperville Comprehensive Plan Meeting: M. Latta reported on the meeting
that she and Mayor Selfridge attended in Naperville, reference to their Comprehen-
sive Plan. Those attending were Warrenville, Aurora, Bolingbrook, Lisle, Plainfield
and both Will and Dupage Counties along with Wheatland Township. Naperville's
plans are to divide the area into section, in which case Plainfield would butt up
against them at the E J & E railroad tracks on the west, up to 87th on the north
and 111th street on the south and'Plainfield-Naperville road on the east. Their
alternatives for our section was to leave it basically agricultural, there are a
few areas that are homes now. The other alternative was manufacturing to grow
east of E J & E railroad between 111th and 87th streets, from Route 59 east to
Plainfield-Naperville Road basically homes of five units per acre and some multi-
;unit homes. Mayor Selfridge and Mary Latta told Naperville that they would bring
this information back to their board for review and Plainfield would get back to
LV Naperville. There will be another meeting of all these communities in the near
) future, possibly in Bolingbrook. M. Latta stated that Wheatland Township along

with Will County was very concerned, -that they want their area to stay agri-
cultural.
Discussion of Bolingbrook Planning Area Maps: A. Simmons discussed the
Bolingbrook Area Map and its interim land use. Bolingbrook's proposed growth
nearest our boundaries would be at the intersection of 135th street and
Plainfield-Naperviile'R,oad. They should,b.e unable to develop further to
the north'becduse of Naperville. Along 1-55 they forsee an office-tech
corridor. Northeast of the intersection of 135th street and Naperville-
Plainfield they have proposed areas - developed into sections which would
include commercial, residential and multi-unit. A. Simmons will contact the
Planner of Bolingbrook to see how the land is being used as this map was
adopted in 1980. He will set up a meeting with Bolingbrook to also include
-the Plainfield.Village Board and Planning Coii-iiission.
