BOARD ACTION Manning announced that the Board unanimously approved the requests for variation by Pride Petroleum and Larson Townhouses. Gullicksen added that no changes were made by the Board to the conditions recommended by the Plan Commission. ROUTE 59 AGREEMENT A report was presented by the Planner concerning the background, planning objectives, and status of the FANCATS study. FANCATS stands for the Route Fifty-nine Aurora Naperville Corridor Area Transportation Study which is an informal association between Aurora, Naperville, Warrenville, Plainfield, Du Page County, and Will County who are trying to put together a plan for the future development of Route 59. Manning explained the contents of the: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. State of Illinois regulation for access to highways. Plainfield Comprehensive Plan. Will County Land Use Plan. Will County Transportation Plan. Du Page County Arterial Policies. A map showing existing conditions. PLAN COMMISSION July 2, 1985 Page Two A discussion ensued on the importance of these regulations, plans, policies, and conditions on Route 59 planning and the limits of Village authority and opportunity for controlling future develop- ment. Possible input by the Village to FANCATS was considered in terms of road capacity, land use, driveways, intersections, and notification. Other issues that wereinentioned included ways to improve existing problems of strip commercial along Route 30 south of the Village, the need for left turn lanes on Route 30 at Lily Cache, and methods for obtaining County and State funding priority. Bayer suggested that a motion by the Plan Commission would be premature at this time due to the size of the task at hand and the need for time to formulate policies using the information and ideas presented tonight. A joint neeting with;:the Board in workshop on July 8 was discussed. All members agreed. Meeting adjourned. Steve Manning, Planner SM: nj g
