August 1, 1988
Present were committee members Collins, Williamson, and Hormaechea.
Also present were Bud Schmidt, Andy Laidlaw, and Craig Jackson.
OLD BUSINESS:
Craig King's surgery performed on the Ponderosa Pine located next
to #2 tee was accepted by the Committee. However, Craig's original
bid was less than the final outcome. The Committee agreed the
additional costs, not included in the original bid, will not be paid.
Therefore, the Men's Association will pay $635.00 from the original
bid.
NEW BUSINESS:
Superintendant Craig Jackson will present to the Committee on
August 15, a three year prioritized list of capital improvements
including costs. Craig will also include a cost estimate to
reconstruct #3 fairway. The reconstruction would include a fully
automated system. Private donations may be available to pay for
reconstruction.
The remainder of the meeting involved discussion with regard to
new clubhouse construction and the sale of lifetime passes.
Williamson made a motion to sell up to 25 non -transferable, lifetime
passes at a cost of $5,000.00 per pass. Each pass holder will have
tee time privileges granted no earlier than two weeks prior an no
later than two days prior. The City will ensure the contractor will
be paid according to actuarial costs. This agreement will be
included in the concessionaires contract. Collins second the motion.
The Committee passed the motion unanimously.
With regard to clubhouse construction, chairman Hormaechea
suggested deleting the paving of the road and parking lot. These two
areas would then be set aside for future consideration. Included in
his suggestions was the possibility the City construct sewer and water
supply lines at little or no cost to the clubhouse project.
Chairman Hormaechea will present the new updated clubhouse plans
and financial options to the City Council on August 11 at 7:00.
Hormaechea suggested that all Committee members should attend, If
possible.
In closing the Committee unanimously agreed to destroy original
clubhouse design brochures September 1, 1988.
The next meeting will be August 15 at the clubhouse.
