N ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AMENDING THE CODE
F THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, 1978, BY REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 8227
AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ENACTING AN
RDINANCE PROVIDING BENEFITS FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY, EXCEPT
FIREMEN, UNDER THE MISSOURI LOCAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT
SYSTEM, AUTHORIZING DEDUCTIONS FROM EKPLOYEES' WAGES, AND
AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF EMPLOYER CONTRIBUTIONS.
03E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. That the City of Jefferson is a political
subdivision as defined in Sections 70. 600 through 70. 760, R. S.Mo. ,
1959, 1967 Supplement, and hereby elects to have covered, by the
Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System, all its
eligible 'employees in the following classes: Present and future
general employees and present and future policemen, and. specif icallS
excluding all firemen.
Section 2. The City of Jefferson elects that one hundred
(100%) per cent of prior employment be considered for prior
service credit in computing benefits and contributions to the
system.
Section 3. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized
and directed -to deduct from the wages and salaries of each employee
member, the member contributions required by Section 70. 705, R.S.
Mo. , Supp. 1967, and to remit the deductions and employer contribu-
tions required by Section 70. 730, R. S.Mo. , Supp. 1967, to the
Retirement System.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after November 1, 1979.
