AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CLERK, ON BEiULF OF SAID CITY, TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE HERSHBARGER CORPORATION AND THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, FOR THE REVIEW OF INSURANCE PROGRAM. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Mayor and Clerk of the City of Jefferson are hereby authorized and directed, for and in the name of the City, to execute a Contract between The Hershbarger Corporation and the City of Jefferson, for the review of insurance program, both property and casualty, and health insurance policies. Section 2. A copy of said Contract is hereto attached and by reference made a part hereof. Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval. Passed i � .,� 7 Approved_ AM &a/esicwnt of theldouncil Mayor✓� Attest y Clerk. «ate CONTRACT FOR INSURANCE CONSULTING SERVICES This agreement is made on 0.3 1" between the City Council of Jefferson Ci y, Missouri, herein referred to as client, and the Hershbarger Corporation, 507 Stalcup Street, Columbia, Missouri, herein referred to as consultant. Services to be rendered to client. 1. Review and analyze the current insurance program in regard to the risk exposures which the client now faces , 5 2. Advise the client on the use and implementation of other appropriate risk management techniques such as risk avoidance, risk assumption, risk transfer and loss control. 3 . Assist and advise the client in the development of a new insurance program based upon the finding in Points 1 and 2 above. 4. Prepare insurance specifications as necessary to permit the client to request competitive bids for property and liability insurance coverages and "health insurance coverages based on the newly developed insurance program. 5 . Compare and analyze the completed quotations received from insurance agents , brokers or companies . 6. Prepare recommendations for the award of the coverage(p) to an agent, broker or company based upon the analysis in Point 5 . 7. Assist the client in reviewing all new policies when issued in order to insure compliance with the specifications , Remuneration 'for consultant, 1. It is agreed that the fee for the consultant is $50 per hour of service, The maximum professional fee for the services outlined in Points 1 through 7 for the Property, Liability and Bond coverages and the Health insurance coverage will be $3,250, 2, In addition to the above professional fees all necessary direct expenses, i,e. , travel are to be reiup ursed with a maximum of $150 on automobile expense. _2_ 3. Clerical expense and report preparation expenses are included in the professional fee. This includes one copy of the specifications ready for reproduction by the client and four copies of all other reports . 4. Two payments are to be made to the consultant. The a: first after the delivery of the completed specifications based upon a time and expense statement but not to exceed one half of the agreed maximum fee. The second payment 'i is to be made at the completion of the project based upon a time and expense statement. Completion Date. I. Services should be completed by September 1, 1980.
