AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH PEAT, MARWICK, MITCHELL & CO. , KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI.,
FOR AN AUDIT OF CITY RECORDS FOR THE YEAR ENDED OCTOBER 31, 1979.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS;
Section 1. The Mayor of the City of Jefferson is hereby
authorized and directed, for and in the name of the City, ' to
execute a written Agreement with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. ,
Kansas City, Missouri, for an audit of City records for the year
ended October 31, 1979, for a sum not to exceed twelve thousand
($12,000.00) dollars.
Section 2. A copy of said Agreement is hereto attached and
, made a part hereof.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after the date of its passage and approval.

encompass the applicable auditing standards relating to financial and aomplianao
audits incorporated in Standards for Audit of Governmental Or:anisations. Pro-
ass Activities & Functions and Audit Ouldelines for Audits of Financial

The Federal Revenue Shari Funds examination will be conducted in accordance

the scope of this examination is only to the extent necessary to include these
funds in the City's financial statements. The scope of our work will not extend
to the examination, of third parties who may have received grant funds from the
City.
A detailed check of the day-today transactions is not contemplated. Reliance
must be placed upon adequate methods of internal check and control an your
�rincipal guard against irregularities which a test examination say not die-
lose.

Our audit foes for the October 31, 1979 examination will not•exceod 012,000.
We also bill for out-of-pocket expenses such as travel and per dies, typing and .
report procesaing charges. The out-of-pocket expenses will not ennead *20NW
Of course, if tisn and gees required to complete the examination are less thw
we have estissted, the City will be billed for the lesser amount.
Our fee quote assumes the books will be closed aad in balamae and that walk-
paper preparation and clerical assistance by Mr. Wattembarger and his staff
will be provided. Our fees contemplate occasional comoultatian as routine as-
counting and financial wattcrs. However, should any requests for Moisten"
Involve substantial amomte of time or require a spacial visit to City offices,
we would aspect to bill the City for such consultation at our stand d rates.
We will, of course, latorn the City in advance of estimated costs of such ser-
