AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, CALLING FOR A
SPECIAL ELECTION TO FILL AN UNEXPIRED TERM OF COUNCILMAN, WARD 5,
IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby declared to be a vacancy in the
office of City Councilman, Ward 5, due to the resignation of
Councilman Edwin H. Rackers, Jr.
Section 2. There is hereby called a Special Election for
the purpose of filling said vacancy as follows:
(a) Candidates for the office of Councilman, Ward 5,
shall file their declaration of candidacy with
the Clerk of the City of Jefferson by 5:00 P.M. ,
on Monday, September 8, 1980.
(b) A Primary Election, if necessary, shall be held
on Tuesday, October 7, 1980.
(c) A General Election will be held on Tuesday,
November 4, 1980.
Section 3. A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be
forwarded to the County Clerk of Cale County, Missouri, upon the
passage and approval of this Ordinance.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in effect from and after
the date of its passage and approval.
