AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , REPEALING
SECTION 12 OF ORDINANCE 8508, AND ESTABLISHING FEES FOR BUILDING
PERMITS AND FIRE INSPECTION FEES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 12 of Ordinance 8508 is hereby repealed .
Section 2. Building Permits. The fees for new construe"'
tion and alterations shall be in accordance with the following
schedule:
New Buildings : Fees based on gross area including
garages, carports, and finished basements.
(1) Buildings of 0 to 3,000 square feet - $0.03
Per square foot plus $0. 01 per square foot
for unfinished basements, with a minimum
fee of $10.00.
(2) Buildings of 3,001 to 10,000 square feet
$90.00 plus $0.02 per square foot for area
above 3,000 square feet , plus $0.01 per
square foot for unfinished basements.
(3) Buildings over 10,000 square feet - $230.00
plus $0.015 per square foot , for area over
10,000 square feet, plus $0. 01 per square
foot for unfinished basements.
Remodeled Buildings :
(4) Fees based on estimated total construction cost.
$0. 00 to 1,000 - $10.00
$1,000.01 to 5,000 -n $4.00 per thousand dollars
® of cost.
$5,000. 01 and over - $26.00 plus $2. 00 per thousand
dollars of cost over $5,000.
Section 3. Fire Inspection. There is hereby established
a fee of $0.005 per square foot , to be added to the Permit Fee,
to cover the cost of providing fire inspection service on new
construction, which would include:
Materials storage
Fire suppression systems for cooking operations
Airports, heliports & helistops
Application of flammable finishes
Dry cleaning plants
Dust explosion hazards-grain elevators-feed mills, etc.
Fruit ripening processes
Fumigation & thermal insecticidal fogging
Lumber yards & woodworking plants

Places of assembly
00 Service station & garages
Tents & air supported structures
Vehicle tire rebuilding plants
Wrecking yeard, ,funk yard, waste material plants, etc.
Welding or cutting operations
Calcium carbide storage
Acetylene generators - carbide capacity exceeding 5 lbs.
Storage for cylinders
Storage of nitrate motion picture film - more than 25#
Storage of cellulose nitrate plastics - more than 25#
Storage of combustible fibers in excess of 100#
Storage of compressed gases
Cryogenic liquids
Explosive, ammunition & blasting agents
Flammable & combustible liquids
Storage - hazardous materials & chemicals

Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage and approval.
