AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY, 1978, BY REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 9202, RELATING TO EXCAVATIONS, AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION 45(a) , PARAGRAPHS (1) THROUGH (6) . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS : Section 1. Ordinance No. 9202 , relating to excavations , is hereby repealed, and a new Section 33-45 (a) , ( 1) through (6) , is enacted to read as follows : "Section 33-45. Same - Fees; issuance. (a) Fee Schedule. Upon receipt of an application for a Permit , the Director of Public Works shall compute and subscribe thereon the estimated cost of the Permit from the following schedule of fees : ( 1) On unimproved dirt roadways , or on the unim- proved portion of any right-of-way within which an improved roadway exists, a flat fee of fifteen ($15. 00) dollars for any excavation. This cost shall be added to any other costs provided for in Paragraphs (2) , (3) , (4) and (5) of this subsection. (2) On unimproved loose gravel or crushed stone roadways, a flat fee of fifteen ($15. 00) dollars. (3) On improved bituminous roadways , a minimum charge of fifty ($50. 00) dollars, plus ninety-five ( . 95) cents per square foot of excavation area, limited to one hundred ( 100) square feet . Any major ® excavations over one hundred ( 100) square feet would be paid for on an actual cost basis for materials , equipment and labor. (4) On improved concrete roadways, a minimum charge of fifty ($50.00) dollars, , plus one dollar and fifty ($1.50) cent per square foot of excavation area, limited to one hundred ( 100) square feet. Any major excavations over one hundred ( 100) square feet would be paid for on an actual cost basis for materials, equipment and labor. (5) Granular backfill, as required under Section 33-51, if furnished by the City, thirteen ( . 13) cents per cubic foot. (6) Any person , company, contractor, or utility desiring to do the backfilling, compacting, and repaving work itself rather than having the city do such work, shall pay only the minimum charge for the type of roadway work is being done on. The t Department of Public Works, in this case, will make a final inspection on the adequacy of the 4 work ninety days after its completion. Section 2.
