AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , FIXING THE
SALARIES AND/OR AUTOMOBILE ALLOWANCES OF CITY ELECTIVE AND
APPOINTIVE OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES , AND REPEALING ORDINANCE
9357 OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR
PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. Compensation of Elective Officials. The
following named elective officers of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, shall receive the following compensation for the per-
formance of their duties, and, as specifically allowed herein,
-the following expense accounts to defray expenses incurred by
them in the performance of their official duties:
(1) The Mayor shall receive the sum of $250.00 per month
as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive $160.00 per
month as an automobile allowance.
(2) The City Attorney shall receive the sum of $1 ,200. 00
per month as salary.
(3) The Municipal Court Judge shall receive the sum of
$775. 00 per month as salary.
(4) The City Treasurer shall receive the sum of $120.00
per month as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive $75.00
per month as an automobile allowance.
(5) The City Assessor shall receive the sum of $1 ,020.00
per month as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive
$75. 00 per month as an automobile allowance.
(6) The City Collector shall receive the sum of $1 ,300. 00
per month as salary, and in addition thereto, the City Collector
shall receive, on delinquent taxes, a sum equal to four (4%) per-
cent of the amount of all delinquent taxes, plus interest thereon,
which amount shall be added to the amount owed by the delinquent
taxpayer and collected from the person paying said delinquent
taxes.
(7) Each City Councilman elected at the General Election in
April, 1979, shall receive the sum of $100 per month as salary,
and in addition thereto, shall receive $160. 00 per month as an
automobile allowance.
Section 2. All new employees are to be hired on a six (6)
month probationary period and shall automatically receive a five
(5%) percent salary increase when they are placed on the perma-
nent payroll at the end of the probationary period.

Section 3. Health Insurance. The City shall pay for all
regular City employees, elected and appointed, the cost of
individual membership in the group medical/hospitalization plan
provided by the City, and the City shall pay for one-fourth
of the Family Plan for those employees desiring the Family Plan.
Section 4. Mileage Reimbursement. Department Heads may
authorize mileage reimbursement at the rate of twenty (20�) cents
per mile to those employees using their privately owned vehicles
for City business , excluding travel from and to their place of
residence. Employees shall submit a detailed accounting of their
mileage to the Director of Finance for reimbursement.
® Section 5. Holiday Pay - Police and Fire Departments . All
employees of the Police and Fire Departments shall receive as
holiday pay, an amount equal to their salary, calculated on a
daily basis , for each and every holiday declared as such by
Ordinance. Neither Department Head shall be permitted to receive
overtime or Holiday Pay. A police or fire employee who is
scheduled for a regular forty (40) hour week and who takes the
Holiday off is not permitted to receive Holiday Pay.
Section 6. Municipally Owned Vehicles . All municipally
owned vehicles shall only be used in the performance of official
City duties .
® ® Section 7. Repeal Clause. Ordinance 9357 and such other
Ordinances or parts of Ordinances as are in conflict with this
Ordinance, are hereby declared to be repealed.
Section 8. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect as of November 1, 1980.
