" INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN ORDINANCE NO. � AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES WITH MR. JANITOR. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS : SECTION 1. The Mayor and the Clerk of the City are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Mr. Janitor, for janitorial services. SECTION 2. Said contract shall read in words and figures as follows : (SEE ATTACHED) SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval. Passed Approved 2&:�t�7 v _ j/ esi ent of the Council Mayor ATTEST: y erk CONTRACT FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES THIS CONTRACT, made and entered into this day of , 19 , by and between the CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, a municipal corporation of the County of Cole, State of Missouri, hereinafter referred to as "City", and R. T. MURRAY, President of Mr. Janitor, P.O. Box 366, Jefferson City, Missouri, hereinafter known as "Contractor". WHEREAS, the City is the owner of certain real estate located in the City of Jefferson, and is in need of Janitorial services, and, WHEREAS, the Contractor is in the business of providing Janitorial services, and is desirous of providing said services to the City, NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the amounts set forth below by the City to the Contractor, the Contractor hereby contracts, covenants, and agrees to perform the following services for the following compensations, at the following locations: I. Community Sanitation & Animal Control Division, 915 E. Miller Street, Jefferson City, Missouri: Contractor to furnish all labor, materials, supplies, and equipment for performing in a good workmanlike manner custodial maintenance service, consisting of: twice-weekly empty all waste baskets and clean when needed, empty and damp wipe all ashtrays, clean, sanitize and re- stock restroom facilities, dry and wet mop tile floor areas, stairs and entrance, kitchen and bathrooms, vacuum all carpets, spot clean as needed, dust or clean office furniture including desks, chairs, file cabinets, telephones, etc. , and �. all horizontal surfaces, clean and polish water fountains, spot clean walls, doors, door frames, partitions and other solid vertical surfaces. Monthly dust baseboards, winduw sills, ledges, picture frames, etc. , spray buff as needed, clean door glass, removing finger prints and smudges. Quarterly scrub and wax tile floors and clean venetian blinds and vacuum drapes. Semi-annually shampoo all carpets. Annually wash all windows and glass doors on both surfaces, strip and wax tile floors, clean all light fixture lens, globes and/or louvres. The City will furnish fluorescent and incandescent lamps but it shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to replace the lamps and tubes. Monthly -1- consideration - $79.46. ' 2. Public Works Building, 911 East Miller Street, Jefferson City, Missouri: Contractor to furnish in a good workmanlike manner custodial services. Duties to be performed will be the same as specified under the Community Sani- tation and Animal Control Division. Monthly consideration - $158.94. 3. City Hall Building, 240 East High Street, Jefferson City, Missouri, including second and third floors, with first floor entrance hall and elevator: Contractor to furnish all labor, material, supplies, and equipment for performing in a good workmanlike manner custodial maintenance service, consisting of daily, Monday through Friday, (Saturday & Sunday can be days for cleaning instead of Friday) , cleaning consisting of emptying all waste baskets and clean as needed, empty and damp wipe all ashtrays, clean, sanitize and re-stock restroom facilities, dry and wet mop tile floor areas, stairs, and entrance, kitchen and bathroom, vacuum all carpets, spot clean as needed, dust or clean office furniture in- cluding desks, chairs, file cabinets, telephones, etc. , and all horizontal surfaces, clean and polish water fountains, spot clean walls, doors, door frames, partitions and other soiled vertical surfaces, clean glass entrance door, removing finger prints and smudges. Monthly dust baseboards, window sills, ledges, picture frames, etc. , spray buff as needed. Quarterly scrub and wax tile floors, clean venetian blinds and vacuum drapes. Semi-annually shampoo all carpets. Annually wash all windows and glass doors on both surfaces, strip and wax tile floors, clean all light fixture lens-globes, and/or louvres. The city will furnish fluorescent and incandescent lamps but it shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to replace the lamps and tubes. Monthly consideration - $357.60. This contract shall continue for a period of one (1) year commencing av on January 10, 1981 and terminating on January 9, 1982, on a month to month basis and can be terminated at any time by either party by giving the other party thirty (30) days written notice. The City retains the right of extending this service from year to year - a maximum of three years with the Vendor. Increase, if any, may be requested by the Vendor and negotiated with the City -2- each year, thirty (30) days prior to the contract termination and cannot exceed 031 .. 6% annually.
