ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 9486, PERTAINING TO HANDICAPPED PARKING, BY THE
ADDITION OF A SECTION DETERMINING SPECIAL IDENTIFICATION CRITERIA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9486, which enacted
Section 23-93(d) of the Code of the City of Jefferson, 1978, is
hereby amended by the renaming of Section 23-93(d) to Section
23-93(d) (1) and the addition thereto of a new section 23-93(d) (2)
as follows :
"In cases in which a person meets the requirements estab-
lished by the Director of Revenue of the State of
Missouri for physically disabled/handicapped withthe
exception of the type of vehicle that person drives',
the Director of the Department of Transportation for
the City of Jefferson shall be authorized to issue a
distinctive handicapped identification insignia to be
Placed on the rear bumper of the vehicle in lieu of
the special license plate normally issued by the State.
The Director of Transportation shall insure proper
evidence of certification prior to issuance of the in-
signia and shall develop and enforce appropriate
regulations applying to the sub-paragraph.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage and approval.
