AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE FOLLOWING
ROADWAYS : POPLAR STREET (FROM ATCHISON STREET TO THE DEAD END) ,
MAYWOOD (FROM WEST EDGEWOOD TO TOWER ROAD) , BY CURBING AND
GUTTERING WITIi PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS
FOLLOWS :
SECTION 1 : Whereas , it was heretofore found and declared
by the City Council, by its resolution, passed and approved on
February 16, 1981, necessary to improve the aforementioned road-
ways in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, by curbing and guttering
with Portland cement concrete, and it appearing to the City
Council that said resolution has been duly published according to
the law for seven (7) consecutive insertions, in the Post Tribune,
a daily newspaper, printed and published in the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, and a majority of the resident owners of property along
the said sections of the aforementioned roadways liable for the
costs of said improvement , and who own a majority of the front
feet on said Poplar Street and Maywood, intended to be improved,
have not filed with the City Clerk a protest against said con-
templated improvement.
SECTION 2: That the said aforementioned roadways, in accord
ance with the plans and specifications submitted by the Director
of Public Works and filed in the office of the City Clerk, and
that the cost of the work aforesaid shall be charged at a maximum
rate of $7. 50 per front foot and levied as a special assessment
against the real estate abutting and fronting on said contemplated
improvement , and special tax bills shall be issued therefore, as
provided in the City Charter, and in Chapter 33 of the Revised
Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, 1977 ,• and of the
Revised Statutes of the State of Missouri, 1978, and amendments
thereto.
SECTION 3; The Director of Public Works is hereby in-
structed to advertise for bids for this improvement.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval. //
