AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 9519 BY DELETING THE CURRENT SECTION 32-54 (A) ,
SECTION 32- 55 (D) AND SECTION 32-65 AND ENACTING NEW SECTION
32- 54 (A) , SECTION 32-55 (D) AND SECTION 32-65 , PRESCRIBING AND
FIXING RATES AND CHARGES FOR THE USE OF PUBLIC SEWERS AND THE
SEWERAGE SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Amend Ordinance 9519 , Section 32-54 (A) by
deleting said section and inserting in lieu thereof the following :
Section 32-54 (A) subject to the provisions of paragraph
(.B) of this section :
Each establishment connected to public sewers shall pay
a sewer service charge of $1 .60 per month which will be used
to pay for a portion of the bond expense ; an additional 48�
per 100 cubic feet of water usage per month will be charged
to the customer and that revenue will be used for the remainder
of the bond expense and the operation, maintenance and replace-
ment expenses necessary to properly operate the facility, of
which 38� is for operation, maintenance and replacement.
In addition to the above charges , a surcharge shall be
levied for any wastewater discharged into the sewer system
which contains more than 300 milligrams per liter (mg/1) of
suspended solids , or 250 mg/l of biochemical oxygen demand
as determined by analytical methods published in the latest
edition of Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and
Wastewater.
Charges for all suspended solids in wastewater in excess
of 300 mg/1 shall be at the rate of $69 . 00 per ton. Charges
for all biochemical oxygen demand in the wastewater in excess
of 250 mg/1 shall be at the rate of $77. 00 per ton.
SECTION 2. Amend Ordinance 9519 , Section 32-55 (D) by
deleting said section and inserting in lieu thereof the following :
Section 32- 55 (D) All users outside the corporate limits
of the City of Jefferson shall be required to pay an additional
charge for use of that part of the system which serves their
respective area, and shall be triple the fixed rate. The
additional revenue derived from this charge shall be applied
to the debt service portion of the sewer budget.
SECTION 3. Amend Ordinance 9619 , Section 32-65 by
deleting said section and inserting in lieu thereof the following :
Section 32-65. Dispersal of Funds . All revenues derived
from the operation of the sewerage system, as collected, shall
be deposited in the Sewer Revenue Fund created and established,

and shall be held, handled, and dispersed in accordance with
the terms of any bond ordinance for issuance of sewage revenue
bonds authorized and issued by the City.
The amount of $46 ,000, which has been calculated as the
needed replacement capital to be collected annually, shall be
deposited in the operation and maintenance account as pre-
scribed in the bond ordinance and shall be used only for the
replacement of equipment as set forth in Appendix "A".
SECTION 4. Any ordinance, or parts of ordinances , in
conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION S. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage and approval.
