September 26, 1988
Present were committee members Engen, Hormaechea, Williamson and
McCarty. Also in attendance were Drips, Bud Schmidt and Jackson.
OLD BUSINESS
Minutes from previous meetings have
not been typed and copied.
Therefore, they will be reviewed and approved during the meeting on
October 11, 1988.
Letters of Support
Council acknowledged receiving several letters of support from members
of the community; these letters supporting the benefits derived from
golf course activities.
NEW BUSINESS
Fairway Renovation
#3, #4, #12, #13
The Committee agreed the complete renovation of all four fairways
wasn't a realistic possibility. Therefore, Hormaechea will propose to
Minshew and Alacano the renovation of # 3 fairway and the top
dressing, over a period of 4 or 5 years, of the other three fairways.
The committee will discuss Alacano and Minshew's commitments next
meeting.
Pond #9 & drainage
Included in the discussion on golf course improvement projects were
areas of poor drainage. The location of a pond infront of # 9 green
adjacent to existing ponds, would be an ideal solution to the drainage
problems. Other areas in need of drainage include the front numbers
1,4,5,8,12,13,14 and 18 greens. The committee agreed those areas were
in need of extensive drainage. Cost estimate for the above repairs
will be presented at the next committee meeting. John Drips suggested
Dwayne Smith estimate the costs.
Clubhouse
Hormaechea made a motion to approve the spending of approximately
$1400 towards the revised brochures. Engen seconded, and the motion
passed unanimously. It was agreed the mailing of the brochures would
for complete by the middle of October. The new brochure will contain
the new proposals. Jackie Sproat agreed to remain on the promotion
and brochure committee.
Laidlaw Architectural Services
Committee will ask Laidlaw to present an update on cost estimate
sheet.
Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m. The next meeting will be Tuesday
October 11, 1988 @ 7:00 p.m. @ City Hall.
