ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AMENDING THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, 1978, BY AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
9360 RELATING TO THE OFFICE OF THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 9360 is hereby amended by the
addition of the following paragraph to be known as Section 8
(E)
E. Non-Interference: Neither the Mayor nor any member of
the City Council shall directly interfere with the conduct of any
department or duties of employees subordinate to the City Ad-
ministrator except at the express direction of the City Council .
Neither shall the Mayor nor any member of the City Council direct
or request the appointment of any person below the department head
level to , or his removal from, office by the City Administrator
or any of his subordinates , or in any manner take part in the
appointment or removal of employees in the administrative services
of the City. Except for the purpose of inquiry and transmittal of
® citizen complaints , the Mayor and members of the City Council
shall deal with the administrative service solely through the
City administrator, and neither the Mayor nor members of the City
Council shall give orders to any subordinates of the City Admin-
istrator, either publically or privately.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflic
with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
