AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 8989 OF THE CITY DEFINING THE EXISTING CITY BOUNDARY AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jefferson was, on September 21, 1981, presented a verified petition requesting that the city annex the following described unincorporated areas of land contiguous to the corporate city limits : Part of the Southwest Quarter and part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 21, Township 44 North, Range 11 West (also known as a part of Private Survey No. 2440) , in the County of Cole, Missouri, and being more particularly �= defined as follows: 1) All of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 21, except a tract in the Southwest Corner thereof conveyed to Cletus B. Bode and wife, and described in Book 134 , Page 364 , Cole County Recorder' s Office. 2) All of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 21 that lies south of U.S. Highway 50-63. 3) All of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 21, and all of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 21 that lies south of U.S. Highway 50-63 , except the following tracts: a) A tract conveyed to Public'Water Supply District No. Two of Cole County, Missouri, and described in Book 196, Page 176, Cole County Recorder's Office. S b) A tract conveyed to Harry Adrian, Sr. , et al, and described in Book 174 , Page 646, Book 161, Page 279, and Book 178, Page 259, Cole County Recorder's Office. c) A tract conveyed to Sidney E. Fox, Jr. and wife, and described in Book 208 , Page 700, Cole County Recorder's Office. d) All public roadways. Containing in all, 127 acres, more or less. and WHEREAS, the petition requesting said annexation was signed by the owners of all fee interests of record in all tracts of real property located within the area proposed to be annexed, and WHEREAS, after giving due and legal notice, as required by law, the City Council did, on October 19, 1981, hold a public hearing concerning the annexation of the unincorporated areas of land described above, and WHEREAS, at the above described public hearing the City Council did provide any interested person, corporation or i 1� �i l� I{ i 11 political subdivision with the opportunity to present evidence, and WHEREAS, after the above described public hearing the City Council did determine that the annexation was reasonable and necessary to the proper development of the City and, further, did determine the City has the ability to furnish normal municipal 4 services to the area within a reasonable length. of time, and WHEREAS, no written objection to the proposed annexation was filed with the City Council in the seven days following the public hearing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: 4 Section 1. Ordinance Number 8989 of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, defining and declaring the boundaries of the City be, and the same is hereby repealed. Section 2. That the limits and boundaries of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, are extended, defined and declared to be as follows, in the Counties of Cole and Callaway, in the State of -•� Missouri, to-wit: Beginning in the center of the Missouri River at a point on the extension northerly of the westerly line of Private Survey #2680; thence southerly along the said northerly extension and the westerly line of Private Survey #2680 to the northeasterly corner of Section 22, Township 44, Range 11; thence southwesterly in a direct line to the southerly right-of-way line of U. S. Route #50, at Station 225+00 (Mo. thence perpendicular to the centerline of the Missouri River to the intersection of the north bank of the Missouri River and the east bank of Turkey Creek (formerly Cedar Creek) ; thence northeasterly along the east bank of Turkey Creek (formerly Cedar Creek) ;
