ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A REWARD FUND FOR
THE PURPOSE OF PAYING REWARDS TO INDIVIDUALS FOR SUPPLYING
INFORMATION TO AID IN THE PROSECUTION OF INDIVIDUALS FOR DES-
TRUCTION OF PUBLIC PROPERTY.
WHEREAS , it is presently a violation of Section 26-52 of
the Code of the City of Jefferson to destroy or damage public
property located within this City; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City
of Jefferson to establish a reward fund to aid in prosecution
® of violations of Section 26-52, Code of the City of Jefferson; and
WHEREAS, the reward fund will be subject to the limitations
and restrictions as set out in• this Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. A supplemental appropriation of $2,500 .00
is hereby authorized out of the unappropriated_:surpl.us. of the
general fund of the City for the purpose of establishing a. reward
fund to be administered as hereafter set out in this ordinance.

SECTION 2. The sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) will
be paid from this fund to any individual or individuals supplying
® ` information which will be used in the prosecution of violation of
Section 26-52, Code of the City of Jefferson, provided such
information supplied will directly lead to the conviction of the
person charged. If several persons supply information directly
leading to the conviction under Section 26-52, Code of the City
of Jefferson, the $500. 00 will be divided equally between the
informants. This reward will be paid upon the conviction of the
individual charged.
SECTION 3. The City and its employees will keep confidential
the identity of any informant unless the testimony of the informant

is deemed necessary for the successful prosecution of the offense.
SECTION 4. No additional rewards will be paid after the
appropriation of $2, 500.00 is expended except upon subsequent
authorization by the City Council -of the City of Jefferson.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval,
