BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS : SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, are hereby authorized and directed, for and in the name of the City, to execute a written contract between the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and Weathercraft, Inc. Aft for roof repairs at 911 East Miller Street. SECTION 2. Said contract shall be substantially the same in form and content as that contract attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully incorporated herein. , ii SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval. Passed `,_, APp•roved��- P esi nt of the6Council Mayor ATTEST: Cjtk Clerk ROOF REPAIR CONTRACT THIS CONTRACT is made and entered into this ov _ day of 1982 , by and between The City of Jefferson, Missouri, a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as "City", and Weathercraft, Inc. , hereinafter referred to as "Contractor". Now, Therefore, in consideration of the covenants and agreements hereinafter set forth, it is agreed as follows : 1. Scope of Work. Contractor shall provide all material, labor and equipment necessary to repair flashing, blisters and roof coating for the Street Division, 901 East Miller Street. The work shall consist of, but is not necessarily limited to : a. East Parapet Wall - Remove aluminum counter-flashing, prime concrete wall and existing flashing, apply Aft two (2) layers of fiberglass flashing membrane in roofing mastic. b. South Parapet Wall - Remove counter.-flashing, prime brick wall and existing flashing, apply two (2) layers of fiberglass flashing membrane in roofing mastic. c. West Parapet Wall - Clean all horizontal and vertical joints in aluminum flashing, prime all joints , apply two (2) layers of open face fiberglass flashing eight (8) inches wide on horizontal joints and four (4) inches wide on vertical joints in a bed of roofing mastic. d. Repair split in center, of roof using same flashing method. e. Repair blisters over entire roof area. The owner shall instruct the contractor on the extent of blister repair at the time of the award of the contract. Blister repairs shall not exceed One Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Three (1,153) square feet. f. Roof Coating - Sweep roof clean, prime entire roof and apply top coat mopping uniformly over entire roof of dead level bitumem at an agreage rate of sixty (60) pounds per one hundred (100) square feet. g. Roof Coating - Area with aluminum coating shall be primed and a new fiberous aluminum coating installed. All work is guaranteed for two (2) years for failure due to materials or workmanship for new flashing and roof coating. This is a limited warranty in that the Contractor shall not be responsible for the existing substratum. ® 2. Indemnification and Insurance. The Contractor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the City for all claims and suits for loss of or damage to property, including loss of all ,judgments recovered thereof, and from all expense in defending said claims or suits including court costs , attorney fees and other expense caused by any act or omission of the Contractor and/or his sub- contractors , their respective agents , servants or employees . 3. Prevailing Wage Law. The principal Contractor and all sub-contractors shall pay not less than the prevailing hourly wage rate of each craft or type of workman required to execute this contract as determined by the Missouri State Department of qp Labor and Industrial Relations in Determination No. 2-026-066. 4. Contract Time. The contract shall be in effect for a period of thirty (30) working days . The working days shall'­­­ -- be determined by the City Clerk of the City of Jefferson. The contract time shall begin running after the notice to proceed has been given to the Contractor. 5. General Conditions. a. The Contractor shall protect adjacent areas by suitable covering during the progress of the work. Upon completion he shall remove from the premises all rubbish and accumulated materials . b. All work must be approved by the Director of Planning. c. At the time of the performance of this contract the Contractor shall possess a valid city license. 6. Rates . The services mentioned in this contract will be provided for a lump sum base bid of One Thousand Six Hundred Sixteen Dollars ($1,616. 00) plus a unit price for blister repairs of Fifty Five Cents ($. 55) per square foot, for a total contract price of Two Thousand Three Hundred Sixty and 15/100 Dollars ($2 , 360. 15) .
