IAN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , APPROVING A
MAJOR CHANGE IN THE SCOPE OF 14ORK FOR THE CONTRACT FOR PROFES-
�ISIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR PREPARATION OF CONSTRUCTION PLANS
AND SPECIFICATIONS AND OTHER SERVICES IN CONJUNCTION WITH COLE
JUNCTION PUMP STATION AND ASSOCIATED INTERCEPTOR SEWERS.
WHEREAS, the City has a contract with Horner & Shifrin,
Inc. for professional engineering services for preparation of
construction plans and specifications and other services in
conjunction with the construction of the Cole Junction Pump
Station and Associated Interceptor Sewers ; and,
WHEREAS , the contract contains provisions for major changes
, to the scope of work pursuant to Article I, Sections C and D; and,
WHEREAS, Horner & Shifrin, Inc. has documented the need
for a change in the scope of work in the area of odor control,
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to execute a change order in the contract with Horner & Shifrin,
Inc. to conduct the work in the odor control area described in
the attached document. The cost of such work shall not exceed
Seven Thousand Dollars ($7 ,000. 00) .
® SECTION 2 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.

AMENDMENT #1 To Contract
With Horner & Shifrin for Design of the
Gray's Creek/Cole Junction Project
® Ordinance No. 9605
Scope of Additional Services :
1. Conclusion and notification of non-feasibility employing
methods outlined in original contract negotiations for odor
control in the proposed system, i.e. , air injection.
2. Investigation of alternative methods of odor control to
include, but not limited to:
a, Chlorination
b. Sodium Hydroxide addition
c. pH control
d. Hydrogen Peroxide addition
e. Others
Investigations shall include all sample analysis , research,
literature reviews and calculations to determine most acceptable
method of control.
3. Cost effective analysis , design and detailed specifications
of the most acceptable system, to include application, storage,
controls, structures and necessary equipment to provide a
functional facility. Operational and maintenance considerations
shall be included,
Estimated Resources Required:
Engineer I (Principal) 20 hrs .
Engineer III 10 hrs .
Engineer IV 120 hrs ,
Engineering Technician II 40 hrs .
