AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, CHANGING THE
NAME OF JAMES HOUCHIN DRIVE TO AMERICAN AVENUE,

I; WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Jefferson,
'+! Missouri, adopted a Resolution on the 16th day of August,
1982, declaring it necessary to change the name of James
(j Houchin Drive to American Avenue; and
WHEREAS, within four (4) weeks from the day of the
last publication of said Resolution, a majority of the
( resident property owners along that portion of the street
did not file with the City Clerk their written protest
against such change of name; and
' WHEREAS, the City Council has , by Ordinance, the power
to change the name of streets , in accordance with the Reso-
lution referred. to herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The name of a street known as James Houchin
Drive in Section 9 , Township 44 North, Range 12 West, is, and
�i it is hereby changed to American Avenue.
' SECTION 2. Upon the passage and approval of this
Ordinance, the City Clerk shall file a certified copy thereof
with the Recorder of Deeds of Cole County, Missouri,
fI SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
