SECTION 2 Any person, firm or corporation violating any of
the provisions of this Ordinance shall upon convicion before
the Recorders Court of said Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island
be subject to fine in the sum of not more than One Hundred
Dollars ($100.00) or to be imprisoned for not more than thirty
days (30), either or both or any part of either or both -in the
discretion of said Court..
SECTION 3 All ordinances or parts of ordinances conflicting
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4 Should any section, paragraph or part of this
Ordinance .be dedlared unconstitutional and /ot void, same
shall not affect the other provisions of said Ordinance./

A special meeting of Council was held to -day a :30 p.m.,

in the Town office, and was attended by Mayor, fill8sided,
and Councilmen Cann, May, Lovell, Young, Haar, Town Attorney
Dutton, and Mr Joe Daniels.
Mr. Daniels stated that he had been authorized to erect the
sign on the pergola aeveral years ago at the corner of Butler
and Atlantic Avenues, and assuumed teat it was alright when
he recently had itrepaint‘d and bracced. Mayor Righton called
his attention to the old building on his property that has been
in bad condition for several years and and whhth he promised
to take down and has never done so, Mr. Daniels was asked to
give a definite date as to when he would remove the building
and he started that he would do something by September 15th.
Mayor Righton informed Council that the keys to tie new Town
Hall building had been turned over to him on August 9th, the
building is not entirely com_leted,Major Wallace told him that
if t_e Town would get the shells he would have the paving done,
as the sand and rock was already on the ground, the heating
system is not finished, and chairs for the auditorium were
needed, the use of Tybrisa Pavilion had been extended for
use without charge to the Town for one night, for the giving
od a dance to raise funds for equiping the auditorium. It
was decided to open the Town Hall at S :00 p.m., on Monday,
August 21st,and give a dance on Tybrisa Pavilion on Thursday,
August 24th. Roland R.Jones was made Chairman of putting on the
affair with the following committee; J.Gordon Miller, A.F.Solms,
J.A.Browne,L.H.Haar.
Mr. O.B.Strong requested that Butler Avenue leading to his
proprtY near the old CRR right of way be paved. The Clerk
was instructed to write Mr. Strong that due to the failure
of others to pay their taxes the Town could not do it.

The Mayor informed Council that several of the ditches lead -
ing from Fort Screven were emptying into the Town's limits
and that he.had notified Col. Barton of this.

The remlar meeting of Council was held to -day at 4 :30 p.m.,
in the Council_c:hamber, and was attended by Mayor Righton, wh o
presided and Councilmen Logan, Lovell, Ypung and Haar.
Also by a committee consisting of Mrs. J.E.McMillan, Mrs. P.A.
Stovall, Miss Susie Phillips, Mrs. Randall Winburn, Mrs. Chas
Ellis, Mrs. W.W.Sprague, Mrs. W.S.Blun, Mrs. M.W.Dixon, Mrs.
Beecher, Mrs. Eugenia Willis, Mrs. R.L.Goodwin, Mrs. B.B.
Cub'_bedge, who appeared in the interest of the Public Library -
Another committee consisting of J.G.7iller, J.A.Brown,
appeared for the S.B.0 of C.,
The committee. for the Library read a report of the activities
of the Library atd stated that as Mrs Greeno, the present
Librarian, was to be let out under the WPA rules, they were
requesting that she be retained in the interim that is re-
quired under WPA until she could be re- certified, and that
the Town assist in paying Mrs. Greeno for the time she was
working until she could get re- instated with the WPA. After
some discussion the committee was informed that the Town
would do everything possible to help the Library, after which
the committee was excused.
Mr. Miller of the S.B.0 of C., requested the balance of the
money due to the C of C by the Taman, he stated that their
creditors were pressing them and they didnt have the money -
the beauty pageant did not come up to expectations, and it
was very necessary to gat it from the Town. Mayor Righton
informed them that he would take the matter up with Chair-
Mann Cann of the Finance Committee to see what could be done
toward making payment.
The minutes of the meetings of August 4th and 14th were
read and approved.
Mayor Righton informed Council that the County had stopped
feeding the mules, he had spoken to Judgee.Uoulihaa and also
Judge Cubbedge in an effort to have the feeding continued
but to no avail, it was necessary for the town to buy feed
for the stock.
Mayor Righton stated that he had stopped work being done by
the convicts on private property, that several property owners
had been promised to have some tress planted but that when
th's work was finished thatbwould be all - he stated that
where a property owner was planing to build and hed a lot
that mi-ht contain a mound of sand that it was necessary to
