SECTION 1. Chapter 22, Licenses and Business Regulations Generally, is hereby amended by enacting one new article to be known as Article VIII, Garage Sales, which shall read as follows: I E; ARTICLE VIII, GARAGE SALES j Section 22-81. Definitions. (; Garage Sale. A public sale of goods commonly known or I referred to as a garage sale, patio or porch sale, yard sale, I' attic sale, rummage sale, or any other similar sale. f jGoods. Includes any goods, wares, merchandise, articles, or j other personal property. I; �! Person. Any person, firm, partnership, association, corpora- , `I tion, company, or organization of any kind. Section 22-82. Number of Sales. + No person shall advertise, conduct, carry-on or permit more ! 1 than four (4) garage sales upon the grounds of or within any dwelling within the City within any calendar year. Section 22-83. Duration of Sales. f No garage sale shall last more than three days. Section 22-84. Hours of Sale. No garage sale shall be held between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Section 22-85. Advertising Signs Restricted. INo person shall erect, place, post or mark any sign adver- tising a garage sale on any public property, including street signs and posts, traffic signs or posts, or on any public utility j pole. Any sign erected, placed, posted or marked, advertising l such garage sale shall be placed no longer than one day before the sale and shall be removed on or before the last day of such sale. The person responsible for conducting such garage sale shall (fiI be responsible for removing any such sign. �i i? �t I' Section 22-86. Goods Not to be Displayed on Public Property. i J! No goods offered for sale at a garage sale small be dis- played for sale on any public street or right of way. f Section 22-87. Enforcement. This ordinance will only be enforced upon written complaint of a resident of the City. �i SECTION 2. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished in accordance with pro- visions of Section 1-8 of the City Code. ?1 SECTION 3. Effective Date.
