AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AMENDING THE
I+ CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON BY REPEALING SUBSECTIONS A, B, and
C OF SECTION 23-6 AND SUBSECTION B OF SECTION 23-7 PERTAINING
TO THE COMPOSITION OF THE PARKING AND TRAFFIC COMMISSION, AND
ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF FOUR NEW SUBSECTIONS PERTAINING TO THE
f SAME SUBJECT MATTER.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
i MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS : i
!f Section 1. Subsections A, B and C of Section 23-6 and
Subsection B of Section 23-7 are hereby repealed, and four new
i; ;
i Subsections are hereby enacted which shall read as follows : i
SECTION 23-6. COMPOSITION, TERM OF OFFICE ,
�I APPOINTMENT, REMOVAL, AND VACANCIES.

A. The Parkin g and Traffic Commission shall consist of
eleven members . Of the eleven members :
1. Four shall be ex officio members
without a vote. These shall be:
a. Director of Transportation
` b. Director of Public Works or his delegate
C. Chief of Police or his delegate
d. Representative from appropriate State agency.
2 . Six shall be regular members , who are residents of
the City.
3. One shall be an alternate to serve in the absence
of a regular member. The alternate shall also be
a resident of the City.
B. The term of office shall be three years with one-third
of the positions being available for appointment each year.
C. The Mayor shall nominate persons to serve on the Parking ,
and Traffic Commission, and the appointments shall be confirmed
by the City Council. The Mayor shall name the Chairman of the

Commission from those persons confirmed as regular members by the ;
City Council. The appointment of Chairman is for a one-year term
SECTION 23-7. MEETINGS , QUORUMS , RULES , j
AND PROCEDURES.
i B. Four voting members shall constitute a quorum for the
transaction of its business.
