ORDINANCE NO. 9q
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH COLE COUNTY FOR
THE LEASE OF PARKING SPACES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Clerk of the City are hereby
authorized to execute a contract with Cole County for the lease of
thirty-five parking spaces located on Lot No. 16.
Section 2. The contract shall be substantially the same in form
and content as the contract attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage and approval.

L E A S E
This Lease entered into this day of 19 P3 by
and between the City of Jefferson, Missouri, Lessor, and the County
of Cole, State of Missouri, by and through its agents, the Cole
County Court, Lessee,
WITNESSETH: Lessor does hereby lease to Lessee and Lessee
hereby takes thirty-five (35) unspecified parking spaces on Lot No.
Sixteen (16) , located at 400 East High Street, Jefferson City, Missouri,
and shall have the right to use the entranceways to the parking lot
in common with the other users of the lot.
SECTION ONE
TERM OF LEASE
The term of this Lease shall begin on February 1 , 1983, at 6:00
A.M. and terminate on December 31, 1983, at 12:00 p.m. subject to
the provisions of Section 2 of this Lease.
SECTION TWO
OPTION
Lessor hereby grants to Lessee the right to renew this Lease for
one additional year beginning on January 1 , 1984, at 12:01 A.M. and
ending on December 31, 1984, at 12:00 p.m. Lessee shall notify Lessor
of its decision to exercise this option in writing.
SECTION THREE
REVOCATION OR TERMINATION OF OPTION
Lessor hereby covenants and agrees that the option to renew
® this Lease granted to Lessee shall be irrevocable and shall terminate
at 12:00 P.M. on December 31 , 1983, unless Lessor has received
written notice from Lessee of its desire to exercise the option granted
in Section 2 of this Lease.
SECTION FOUR
RENT
Lessee shall pay as rental to Lessor during 1983 the sum of two
thousand, three hundred ten dollars ($2,310.00) which is six dollars
($6.00) per space per month for thirty-five (35) automobile parking
spaces. The sums are to be payable upon the standard terms used by
the parking division of Lessor. Rental during 1984, if the option is
• exercised, shall be at the same per-space fee charged to other
customers on January 1 , 1984.
SECTION FIVE
LESSOR DUTIES
Lessor covenants to keep Lessor in quiet possession and
Senjoyment of the parking lot during the term of this Lease. Lessor
covenants to provide all reasonable and necessary parking lot
maintenance including but not limited to snow removal, painting of
space markers, and the posting of information signs, and Lessor also
covenants and agrees to enforce at its expense and with its personnel
the parking lot rules and regulations pertaining to City-owned
parking lots.
SECTION SIX
PARKING PERMITS
Lessor covenants and agrees to provide all necessary permits
and any other necessary documentation to Lessee in order that Lessee
may have full use and enjoyment of its thirty-five parking spaces.
SECTION SEVEN
SUBLEASE OR ASSIGNMENT
Lessee hereby covenants and agrees that it shall not sublet in
whole or in part, nor assign or transfer, any interest it may have
in the lease hold without the prior written consent of the Lessor.
